Title: Kind of off-topic but about someone GS related

OK, I've read the Wikipedia article on Jon Bauman, and someone made a note that the character of Bowzer was once called "Choo Wate."  True?  If so, when did he use this name (and why)?

Maybe he did that when he left Sha Na Na so he could be billed as "Just Choo Wate" :p
