I was reading the aug 5th Chicago Sun Times pg 37 Chuck is doing ads for a funeral home chain.
-
Coincidentally, I saw Chuck on the TMZ television program last night. The desperate and somewhat clueless cameraman was peppering him with whatever game show questions he could come up with, including "What did you think of Alex shaving his moustache?" and most entertainingly "Did you ever sleep with Vanna?"
/Makes me wonder if Chuck has even met Vanna.

A desperate and somewhat clueless cameraman at TMZ? What ARE the odds?

Eternal Rest Funeral Home...For when you won't be back in two and two.

Once you buy a plot, it's yours to keep.

In the Scrabble game of Life, when your heart hits a stopper,
You'll be buried six feet under a big granite Topper (furnished by Ferriman's Funeral Home, Cincinnati, OH).

Well, you always need to be prepared for when the Terminator hits.

Well, Wheel was still on NBC Daytime while Chuck was on Scrabble, so I'd have to believe that their paths have crossed at least once over that 5-6 year span.

And if they were Firestone tires, he always landed on Bankrupt...
/Does this make me more clever?

Which, if your radar detector was on, you would've realized was meant sarcastically. YMMV on whether it struck your funny bone or not. It's really not gonna affect me either way...

No need to be defensive. I didn't get the humor in the joke either, so I guess I need new batteries.
/BTW, I'm being sarcastic
//And I just got home from a comedy show, so I think my sense of humor's just fine

LMK, when one of those commercials pops up on youtube

Many many many moons ago, Chuck Woolery was on "The Pat Sajak Show", Pat's short-lived talk show on CBS late night. I distinctly remember Chuck mentioning the fact that he knew Vanna before Pat did. I forget how they knew one another, but Chuck & Vanna did indeed know one another.
Sajak is cool, and I do not dislike him at all. That being said, I still, some almost 30 years later, still think upon him as the "new" WOF host. I think Chuck & Vanna together would have really been dynamite. Chuck is really great, but I cannot help but wonder if he has ever kicked himself or had moments of deep regret that he left the show in December of '81, given how it's had a most amazing 27, soon to be 28 year run in syndication.

I think he does. On the last show of Scrabble in 1990, he wondered after one word (TOPSOIL) if he was the only thing leaving the network and not the show. "I kept telling them, "Look, find somebody else to do it, it'll be a huge hit--look what happened to Wheel!"."
Chuck's tenure on Wheel was also brought up a couple (http://\"http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RvZZJbnOsuQ\") of times (http://\"http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VHOge-2ysuY\") on Greed.
