It was technically a Bandstand tribute, not a Dick Clark tribute.

The Chicago Cubs.

I understand your gripe but if there's no game show b-roll, so be it.  Not the end of the world.

If I'd read the whole article (http://\"http://www.tvsquad.com/2010/05/27/daytime-emmys-will-feature-tribute-to-dick-clark/\") instead of just the headline, I would have spared myself the trouble of watching. (Of course, the url name didn't help any.)

Donny said, "You taught me how to host a classic game show." As close as it came.

I had trouble with the producer using the awards to sell its D-grade syndicated shows, but that's another topic.

Also, one of the ceremony's presenters on that night did mention Dick Clark's name as one of those who had won the Best Game Show Host award before.  Yes, it was mostly an American Bandstand tribute, but Clark did get a Lifetime Achievement Award in a previous Daytime Emmy Award ceremony many years ago, and there were some clips from his other shows at that event then, including briefly from Pyramid.

I saw it on Facebook via Youtube. I cried. That man is one of my heroes. I'm SO GLAD he was alive to see this "tribute". Who cares if Pyramid got no mention. All of us know what he did. And he continues to do, in his new role as an inspirational leader to stroke suffers AND the disabled community. I am SO PROUD he is bringing awareness and still fighting. GOD BLESS RICHARD CLARK!!!!!

Just a footnote here...

During the awards ceremony this past Sunday 6/27/2010, a viewer poll was asked to vote via cell phone text-messaging their all-time favorite game show host.  The given choices shown on the TV screen were Alex Trebek, Dick Clark, Pat Sajak and Bob Barker.  The person who received the most votes would be posted the following morning on the CBS.com website as the "winner" (highlighted in bold lettering), and it was...Dick Clark!!!
