Title: Sony ECM-51
Post by: ryan3417 on June 02, 2010, 08:24:59 PM
I have an ECM-51 and was curious if anyone has the owners manual for it.  The one i have is complete (and actually works!) just doesn't have the owners manual.

Would like to eventually put this up on ebay and would like to sell it "complete".

Any help is appreciated.

Thanks

I'd suggest taking this to Gearslutz.com (http://\"http://gearslutz.com\"). There's a few mic geeks among us [myself included], but you'd have a much better chance at success there than you would here.

Sorry, i actually meant the "owner's manual".  Was there such a thing that came with it?

I already have the "service manual".

Thanks again.  If anybody's interested in making me an offer for my ECM-51 prior to putting it up on ebay, let me know.  I'm all ears.

Looks like it's available (http://\"http://cgi.ebay.com/Sony-ECM-51-Game-show-Microphone-/300438636839?cmd=ViewItem&pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item45f389c927\"), if anybody's looking for a piece of seventies nostalgia.

It looks like you're bidding against a bot. On Saturday there were not one, not two, not three, but nine bids by bidder 5***0. Seven of those bids were consecutive for $380. There are seven days left. I expect it will go for well over $500 by the time it sells.

Just checked Sony's esupport website to see if it has a PDF of one.  It laughed.  (No results.)

Actually, that's just the nature of the system Ebay uses.  Bidder 5***0 is the high bidder, but he has not yet bid up to the reserve price.  He's continued to bid, presumably to discover what the reserve price is, but since no one else is bidding against him, his $380 is still considered high even though he's made larger bids.  As others increase their bids, he'll still be listed as the high bidder until someone surpasses whatever his top bid is, but even then the reserve might still not be met.
