I...really don't know. Neither makes that much sense, and when put together in the space of three hours it's a bit disturbing...
DREAM #1: "If you can putt this ball..." (The Price is Right)
-Bob was host, and they were about to play Hole In One...weird thing is, the top half of the sign was on top of what appeared to be the Shell Game table. The grocery prices were displayed on flippable black pieces that had a mini-HIN sign on the front and the price(?) on the back (looking similar to On The Nose).
DREAM #2: "Hello, Stars!" (The Hollywood Squares)
-Apparently Greta Garbo (or at least a male facsimile) and Paul Lynde got into a relationship, then appeared in a duet during the Vegas season. Then "Greta" got into a singing/dancing duet during the SAME SHOW with an in-drag HARVEY KORMAN(!), with one of the songs being "M plus M". When did Squares become a variety show...and why was Paul's square so freakin' huge with wallpaper and the like?!
I woke up with a headache and -- for some reason -- thoughts racing through my head of the 12/31/79 Squares episode and the fact that it uses the final theme but hadn't changed the set yet...
Don't know what I ate that caused all of this. I really don't.

That settles it. No more Japanese food before you go to bed.

I feel embarrassed. For everyone.
Also, I just discovered the "ignore" feature here! That should come in handy.

Just *now* you discovered this? :)

Other people post GS-related dreams -- most of them weirder than the ones I posted -- and nobody goes "I feel embarrassed", but the moment I raise my hand and say "I want to share a couple" everybody acts like doing such a thing is embarrassing. I posted these weird dreams because I wanted people to laugh with me regarding their strangeness and absurdity, not at me for coming up with them in my sleep.

This is not the case at all. The martyr card does not become you.
Ha, ha, guys.
Actually, the reason I said what I said was because the ignore functionality has been in place for, gawd, at LEAST a solid five years now (probably longer, actually), and I was thinking of the long list of bozos that Mitch has had to endure from not knowing about it.
and nobody says "I feel embarrassed for everyone."
Wait...no, still not becoming.

Well, you learned something, didn't you?
(Actually, I doubt it.)

I have not, nor will ever, play the so-called "martyr card". Although it's good to know I'm wrong.
Ha, ha, guys.

Again, it's good to know I'm wrong. Not so good to know that Mitch (who has been a member here for over six years) may very well think of me as a bozo, but quite frankly I don't care -- I should be allowed to share game-show dreams on a game-show forum without being laughed at.
I'm not talking about comments like the one Otm Shank gave, though -- that one made me smile. :-)

I learned that some people are total [bleep]s no matter what (actually, I learned that while certain morons were calling me the names I don't dare utter here). That may not be what you meant, Chris, but it's what I got.

I'll take The History of Mushrooms for $20, Art.
By the way, Dan, you've said it already- this is a Game Show FORUM. Everyone's entitled to his or her opinion. If Mitch thinks your dreams are embarrassing, then that's his opinion. You're taking his opinions personally because of your "rocky start" around here. Complaining that people are singling you out makes you look like a martyr. If you don't like what people say, the best thing to do is brush it off and move on.

Too late, chief. You've already done it. Many times.
I should be allowed to share game-show dreams on a game-show forum without being laughed at.
Pretty sure Mitch wasn't laughing. I know I wasn't.
and, quite possibly, that I should never share game-show dreams on a game-show forum.
...if you don't want to deal with the potential consequences of that, sure.

I thank you, sir. Not only for the advice, but also for explaining what the "martyr card" means. I'll keep this paragraph in mind in the future.
We all had a good laugh, and I learned not to eat weird-looking stuff while taking Ny-Quil, so I think this thread can be locked.

It's no sense into this turning into the weekly piling on that I'm predicting, but I'll say this much (again).
This is a game show forum, yes. But just like some complain of too many off-topic posts (the "Hot Potato" game thread for instance), not every single thing about game shows has to be posted either. I mean, when I was in 11th grade, I was a ringer for the quiz bowl team (ringer is putting it nicely), and during practice, I buzzed in because I knew that Wheel was the #1 show for 15 years running (at that time, and still is of course). But, it wasn't much to discuss, even amongst fans. There was another poster who posted every single game show reference he saw, and 9 times out of 10, it went downhill.
And for the umpteenth time, stop crying about being the victim. I will admit the barrage of comments gets tiring after awhile, but you refusing to get it does as well. Have fun, but for goodness sake, stop trying so hard to fit in.

Some of the best advice I ever received: "Nobody gives a (darn) about your level-17 Paladin."
Ha, ha, guys. I may not be the most upright person on this board, yet you folks make "Vanna jokes" and post pictures of Bob Goen sporting a 1920s-silent-movie-villain mustache and nobody says "I feel embarrassed for everyone."
Way to drag me into the conversation for no reason at all. First off, said Goen picture was created by me in response to something Matt said. Second, I didn't come off as an absolute buffoon by posting such a picture. In fact, it was well-received by all who responded, including the extremely rare laugh out loud by Michi-Mod.
I'd help you out but it's been done by yours truly, Misters Lemon, Raygor, et al often including this thread, yet you STILL don't friggin' get it. You're on your own, Norman. Continue posting about dreams like the one where you were competing on Supermarket Sweep in only a Speedo and continue wondering why people think you're off-kilter.

I admit that I'm off-kilter (I never said I wasn't), that I forget things, and that I act weird.
...

Dan, let me level with you here.
When I first came to this board in April 2006, I was a big-mouthed douche. For some reason I felt it was appropriate to be overly defensive and rather rude at times because somehow I thought it would be acceptable or cause me to fit in with the group. After about ten or fifteen posts (which have since been deleted out of personal embarrassment) and some cold receptions, I realized that wasn't how it worked around here. To remedy this situation, I looked myself over, realized what I was doing wrong and decided to change it to be more like myself and (and pay attention, this is the important part) I lurked for a while, only occasionally posting when "necessary" so I could get an appropriate feel for how things operated here.
In the four years since I joined, I'd like to think I've become a fairly well-liked and contributing member. (Please, someone correct me if I'm wrong.) But I never would have if I hadn't taken that step back and realized that what I was doing wasn't working. I'd like to kindly and sincerely suggest you do what I did and just sit back and watch for a little while. You're on the fast track to becoming the biggest joke seen around these parts in a while and I'm sure that's not what you're looking for. Take more time and just watch. See how things work around here. And maybe within more time, you can work to become a more productive member. We would all appreciate it.
/And for the love of God, learn how to use slashies in your downtime.

I think there's a Dallas dream sequence reference somewhere in Doug's quip.
/Well, technically it was Pam Ewing's dream but who's counting
//Don't look at me like that...my mom watched the show
///When she went into labor with me, she refused to go to the hospital until Dynasty (http://\"http://www.tv.com/dynasty/the-will/episode/8004/summary.html\") went off
-
Dallas was a top-notch series up to that point, Dynasty on the other hand was always a big joke.
/Back to the thread.
//Also, I've never had a game show related dream.
-
I had a dream once where WOF was canceled and it was Pat Sajak with a shotgun giving the electronic puzzle board the business (Vanna was clapping of course).
As well I'm sure some people got dreams from whammies, getting sucked into the big wheel and a contestant with a gun goes haywire to other contestants or the host. Or nice dreams like winning 1 million bucks on dond or bashing the host on ydkj.
And if I ate too much Japanese food, I wish I would wake up sleeping next to Suzanne Pleshette :)
