Well, "SHOWS CANCELED BY CBS FOR NEXT SEASON" (http://\"http://livefeed.hollywoodreporter.com/2010/05/cbs-cancels-cold-case-numbers-miami-medical.html\") would make a great category on The $1,000,000 Pyramid(?) right now.
So, what might fill these? New stuff? The Cube? The grand return of TPIR Million Dollar Spectaculars? We'll have to see, upfronts are very soon.

Two comedies - including another Chuck Lorre creation and four dramas IIRC.
-
One of which is a reboot of Hawaii Five-0. (As long as it doesn't turn into "CSI: Honolulu" I'll give it a shot.)

I just hope Flashpoint finally gets another spot. After all, CBS has been helping foot the bill to produce the show, haven't they? Definitely a cool twist on the traditional police procedural.
/having Amy Jo Johnson around definitely helps, though

And lo and behold, in the program orders from CBS affiliate relations today...
FLASHPOINT

Effective June 4 – July 9, 2010
FLASHPOINT

Effective July 9, 2010 UFN
Programs Replaced:
MEDIUM (9:00-10:00pm cnyt/cpt – June 4 – July 9, 2010)
MIAMI MEDICAL (10:00-11:00pm cnyt/cpt – Effective July 9, 2010 UFN)
Herewith firm order on the return of FLASHPOINT to the primetime schedule on Fridays as indicated above.
BTW, UFN is "until further notice"; doesn't mean it's got a permanent home, just that it'll be that way until they tell us otherwise.

I thought UFN might be the Ultimate Fighting Network channel, so thanks for clearing that up.

I was hoping they'd move Letterman to 10pm.

Good one. :-)
So, assuming the LMaD renewal is for serious, that would make the first time a rookie daytime game show was renewed since.....? CBS Family Feud? Granted there was a 15-year-gap, that's the last show I can think of that made it beyond its one-year anniversary*.
*I know it's not until October, but should CBS renew it, I would kinda think the anniversary is inevitable. ;-)
-
No news on the Daytime from their upfronts (yet).
-
OT, but let's look at the biggest news to break out of this morning's upfront. Tiffany moves "Big Bang" to Thursday nights at 8:00PM (The first time in four decades a sitcom has aired on CBS on Thursdays, BTW). Why are they doing this? IMO, they want to make sure Joel McHale is STILL known as just "The Soup guy".

/The titular character on !*#$@ My Dad Says, which follows Bang, is played by Show Me The Money host, William Shatner.
-
Totally selfish statement on my part, but moving Big Bang to Thursday really realigns my television watching to something a lot more balanced - really like the Thursday buildup of Big Bang/Shat My Dad Says/The Office/30 Rock timeshifted.
/Third game on daytime lines up for Deal/Game/Price from 9-noon
//Me likey

And Survivor goes to Wednesday nights- should do well, the competition is Lie to Me on Fox (which barely got renewed), 2 comedies on ABC (one of them new, and The Middle, which is the weakest show of the 3 returning Wednesday comedies), and Undercovers on NBC (the new JJ Abrams show)

I didn't know my younger sister ran CBS. How about that.
-
She has done a good job at least with fine silver and multicolored lamps.
-
I'm just glad that Big Bang Theory won't be on opposite anything I care about any more (except baseball).
-
CBS is going with a few ballsy moves that may just work out for them. I can't recall them ever attempting to take on NBC's Thursday night comedies, and the Wednesday night comedy block never seemed to work for them, as many different shows as they tried there.

I really enjoy The Middle and have no use for the others, especially the critical darling Modern Family. Wasn't Survivor originally on Wednesdays?
I'm sorry to see Christine canceled, even though I've been watching it less.

The bigger competition comes in the second Survivor "season" -- the one that starts in February. The second half of the show, including Tribal Council, will be up against the truncated American Idol results show.
/Not sure if CBS affils will freely give up that 9am hour for another GS. They love that slot for local news following Early Show.

There are a few stations that aired Guiding Light at 9AM, and mine continued airing Deal in that slot. They used the syndie slot for Dr. Phil at 3PM.
