Title: Pyramid Question (1991 Series)
Post by: WarioBarker on April 09, 2010, 11:14:46 PM
I watched the first Davidson episode earlier, and noticed that although there was a 21-21 tie in Game 1 there was no mention of the $5,000 bonus...nor was the graphic shown when the tie was broken.

Did the Davidson version use the $5,000 bonus at any point during the run? Thanks for any help. :)

My question is -- did the Davidson version use the $5,000 bonus at any point during the run? Thanks for any help. :-)[/quote]Given these cases, my guess is that the bonus was gone, though you can't discount John's propensity to [foul] things up. I would suggest finding more episodes (on the YT, for example) to widen your sample space.

Seems to me that the graphics guy would know what he was doing though, not to mention the director.

The $5,000 bonus for breaking a 21-21 tie was never used during the Davidson run.

Interesting, I never realized this. Not having the $5K bonus, but throwing around $1K here and there for the Double Trouble categories and things like that.

The $5,000 bonus for breaking a 21-21 tie was never used during the Davidson run.
Which made 21-21 ties as they were pre-1984 -- cool, but ultimately useless to strive for in terms of bonus cash.

Tell that to the player trailing 14-21 headed into the sixth category.

Uh, if I'm on the show, I'm striving for 21.  If my opponent is as well, bully for him or her.

Please think a few minutes before hitting "Add Reply".

Hey, if you're lucky, you're playing against Dan, who apparently doesn't strive for 21 unless there is money involved.

Hey, if y'all want to continue the dog pile, that's fine, but I think he meant useless in terms of something extra. You try to win no matter what, that's just Day One of Game Show Community College. But then again, I would rather go back to actual discussions and not nitpicking and mindreading.
