After being relegated to the Creative Arts ceremony last year, it appears (based on the list of the Creative Arts winners from last night's show) that the both the game show Daytime Emmys will be awarded tonight!

Best Game Show:
Noms -- Cab, J!, WWTBAM
And ..... CASH CAB repeats!!!
-
And, for host:
The nominees were: Bailey, Mandel, Trebek, Vieira
And the winner: Meredith Vieira (2nd win)

Given that "Cash Cab" won the Best GS Emmy again, I'm surprised Ben Bailey still hasn't won the Best GS Host Emmy. Anyway, Meredith Viera becomes the first female to win two GS Host Emmys as a result of tonight.

From the Creative Arts ceremony: TPIR lost to Sesame Street in the Best Costume Design/Stylin.

And just as the cast and crew of 22 1/2 year old serial The Bold And The Beautiful was taking the stage to accept their first-ever award for best daytime drama.....let's cut away and put up a sponsor plug!!!

Which ties him with Gene Rayburn; he was "0 for 3" as well.

And she didn't even show up to accept. Of course, she has her Today Show gig; so that was a legit excuse.
If we do have a GSC "Legends Luncheon" this year, I'm certain OUR awards ceremony will be ten times better than the Emmy folks.....
Cordially,
Tammy
P.S. The way the Daytime Emmys have been handled, some of our faves (Eubanks, Lange, the Winkster, for example) will probably get their "Lifetime Acheivement" honors after they're six feet under.

Honestly though, can you give one OBJECTIVE reason as to why any of those three should receive the award? Yes, they have long careers, yes they worked in other mediums (radio), but none of them have done anything in at least 10 years, minus game show parodies here and there or something remembering the hosts of yesteryear (By my count, Eubanks hosted Newlywed in the late-90s). Their careers are no more significant than anyone else who's received the award in the past. It's time to let it go.
