Of all the one-shot hosts we have seen in the past few years - Lodge, Bernsen, Saget to name a few - do any stand out to you? Three years later I still like the job Danny Bonaduce did on GSNs 'Starface'. Best of all I think was Bill Dwyer on 'IGAS'.

Bob Saget on 1 vs. 100. I rolled my eyes upon hearing the announcement, but I gave him a fair shake and he impressed me. He did really well.

Agreed. Couldn't stand him on AFHV and I expected the worst for 1V100 and was pleasantly surprised.

Fan of Bil's work myself (yeah, he only uses the one 'l' in his first name), but in all fairness (to Bil anyway), he hardly "came after Howie". He had Battlebots, Ultimate Fan League and especially Dirty Rotten Cheater all to his credit before IGAS came along. In many ways, he predates the whole trend of giving game shows to stand-up comics, though from what I've seen, he'll never be famous for his stand-up act.

Dwyer has the stuff of a top-notch host, and I'd love to see him get a hit game show.

Not a big fan of Dwyer, or it may be he has gotten himself involved with some really bad shows. I liked Saget the best so far.

Dwyer is like Mark L. Wahlberg, in that he gets formats that just don't stick. The difference is, Dwyer's shows were actually good.
/I liked Russian Roulette
//And agreed on Saget

I agree about Saget. I also would like to see Bernsen get a shot at a good show.

Really? You actually saw something approaching promise in his work on How Much Is Enough?

Roger Lodge is not a "one-shot" host. He hosted Blind Date and ESPN's Trivial Pursuit before he hosted GSN's Camouflage.

Blind Date is not a game show.
ESPN's Trivial Pursuit made it all of five episodes.
He's a one-shot.

Yes. I liked how he interacted with the contestants.
ETA: When I saw the title of the thread, I thought, "Wait, Howie's too young. There's no way Martin Niemöller could have mentioned him along with the Jews, Catholics, et al."

Fair enough. He didn't blow my skirt up, but then HMiE was such an awful format that my opinion of him might have been somewhat jaded because of that.
