Steve Beverly has posted some links for Rod Roddy's 1960 radio show. Here is a glimpse of what he sounded like on the radio way back when.....

Great stuff. Radio isn't the same anymore, is it? So controlled to every second and far from local.
Rod Roddy sounded a lot different back then. It's really interesting to see the arc of an announcing career and to see him grow into the man we heard on "Soap", PYL and TPiR. I think it's a credit to him that he kept growing as an announcer long into his career.

For those who haven't read the story on the History of KLIF (http://\"http://www.historyofklif.com/\") website, Rod once hosted a call-in show called "Hotline", and one day Miss America was his guest. He felt she was a little rude before the show, and said so when they went on the air. She responded by throwing her coffee on him and walking out. He got so angry, he hyperventilated and passed out on the air!
