Hi all,
Wondering if anyone knows the original airdates (or at least the year) of the following shows, as I am updating my collection spreadsheet:
To Tell the Truth 1990:
Alex's first show
Mark Goodson's guest hosting for Alex two shows
1 vs. 100 debut
I've Got A Secret with guest Bob Barker (from GSN's salute to Bob last year)
Tattletales with Bob Barker hosting (also from GSN's salute)
Wheel of Fortune from 1992 (from GSN's Merv tribute)
Jackpot with Geoff Edwards (from GSN home viewer vote last year)
Family Feud with Richard Dawson - "September" answer from Fast Money
Match Game - "Cuckoo Friend and Ollie"
Thanks!

Fall of 1980, not exactly sure of the airdate.

Match Game - "Cuckoo Friend and Ollie"

Shows were bicycled (I think), but it was the sixth taped week of the 1979-80 season daily strip.

Don't know if the show was bicycled or not, but the year is 1972.
Wheel of Fortune from 1992 (from GSN's Merv tribute)
Sep. 24, 1992.

According to the WIN TV version, "September" was taped Sept 25, 1980; so it probably aired around mid-October or so.
I believe the Bob Barker "Tattletales" episode was from Dec 1975. After Gene Rayburn's week guest-hosting in July 1974, they did that two more times but each time rotated hosts each day. I'll have to check old TVGuides but I think the next time after that was Dec 1976.
"Jackpot" was from fall 1989 and I think that's about as close as we can pin it down.
I really liked it when GSN indicated when these shows were originally taped/aired. I'd like to know why they stopped doing that...

I don't think GSN particularly wants us to be reminded of how old these shows are and accept them on the basis of their entertainment value alone.

Like with Match Game '74.
I suspect it may have been too much like work to provide this courtesy.
Of course, that doesn't stop them from filling the screen with oodles of other crap during the shows.

When GSN first began, they didn't start displaying the episode's tape date nor the episode's original airdates at the start of each episode day in and day out, correct me if I'm wrong on this, but by December 1996, they started that practice of displaying the episode's tape dates/original airdates for the color series/color revivals of G/T games that started out B&W and the episode's original airdates for the B&W G/T series and versions but by January 1998, the original airdate display practice continued for the B&W series but they discontinued that for all the color series/revivals meaning that when they showed Quiz Kids Challenge or the Dating Game episodes from the '60s and early '70s or even Daytime Years #4 and #5 of TPIR that they showed on Mondays, we never knew what year the episodes were from since the copyright displays weren't there for either of those.

Was there any pattern as to when it showed a tape date or an air date?
Iris might have said it, but I already have the headache.

Though, IIRC, when WinTV was on, it showed air dates as well.

I think they did tape date as well.

Since Iris has lost the period from his/her(?) keyboard, I'll try to provide more info:
When GSN first went on the air, they gave either the tape or air date for the Prime Games shows. After about a year, that expanded to all of the shows on their schedule. Shortly after what some people refer to as "the dark period" began, they stopped altogether.
I think they might have revived the practice for certain shows in the Black & White Overnight blocks for a while after that, but that didn't seem to last long.
