"GSN has tapped Kim Coles and stand-up comedian Judy Gold to host the pilots for "The Dating Game" and "The Newlywed Game," respectively... GSN senior vp programming Jamie Roberts said this month that the network was looking for 'unusual candidates to take these shows and reinvent them'."

Reinvent the shows or reinvent the hosts?

It sounds like they took these hosts straight out of artists/managing agencies which they represent & putting them squarely into the fire without an audition(on a GSN show, who needs auditionss for hosts?).  I seriously hope this is not a trend happening here.  If it is, I'm beginning to question their hiring practices lately.

I actually disagree on both counts. I think Judy can handle Newlywed, based on her interviews. She can handle interaction well.

Kim on the other hand....did anyone here see "In the Loop with IVilliage"? Cripes. She can't handle anything without a script.

Yes, I stand corrected. They did tape in NY, mostly because it's home turf for producer Michael Davies.

Having met Kim "Don't Call Me Tootie Anymore" Fields recently, I can assure you, she ain't going to host a game show anytime soon.
