Yesterday after my son's 5th birthday party, we were trying to reference the antics of one of our son's friends at dinner. We didn't want to state his name out loud and rather than spell it, our usual form of encryption, I launched into a Pyramid list: "Jimmy... Billy... Rosalynn... Nell..." My wife countered with Lynda. Mom finally got it, but it made me wonder:
If this had been an actual category, could one get away with saying "Lynda with a Y"? Does anyone ever recall such 'clarification' being used on any incarnation of Pyramid?
And no, unfortunately the family doesn't gather 'round and play Pyramid. Sigh, that would be fun though...

Strikes me as being too descriptive. Similar to "A shirt with sequins" for "Things that shimmer."

I'd buzz it because "with" is a preposition, and illegal.
It's always nice to know that I'm not the only one who does this when needed, though. :)

Could you, instead, spell out the word?:
"Lynda - L - Y - N - D - A"

Spelling is not part of the list. You get buzzed.

But "a sequined shirt" would be acceptable, yes?
