Title: Thanksgiving sale at MSN Games
Post by: clemon79 on November 21, 2007, 03:16:45 PM
In the spirit of the Match Game DVD set deal that was posted here a while ago, I thought you guys might like to know about a deal we're running at MSN Games this weekend:

Nutshell, all PC download games are 50% off through this coming Monday. The main reason this interests me is that we just picked up Concentration today, so if you want it for $10, here's your chance.

Scanning the site, we also have a couple of Family Feuds and a Wheel of Fortune, and a couple of the independent Pat Sajak casual games.

Again, though: EVERYTHING is on sale, not just the game-show stuff.

Anyhow, if you want the details, have a look:

Hope it's useful for someone!

Now would be an excellent chance to get the game Peggle (mentioned here before...it's an excellent Plinko-esque game) half-off.

Ooh, good call, which I didn't think of 'cuz I already have it. :)

(Me, I'm taking a good hard look at Scrabble, since the version currently on my machines is the one I got at Atari...)

Chris, this appeared on the front page:

"This 50% discount is only applicable to orders that are paid in US dollars (USD)."

I don't have a problem with paying in US$, but does that mean non US credit cards won't work?

Thanks

Ryan :)

I'm pretty sure that you're fine up there in Canuckistan....you guys still pay in USD, your bank just handles the exchange rate behind the scenes. That's there because I think there is a back-end problem processing the discount overseas.

But yeah, if you pay in USD with a Canadian credit card, it should be fine. If the system won't accept a Canadian CC, then you'll find out when you check out, that's all. But I think it's fine...I know when I go up there you guys are more than happy to honor my Visa. :)

(We don't accept Canadian Tire money or Club Zed cards, though. ;))

You need to call / email / whatever Family Video and get on their case about this...I had to pester them pretty hard to get them to send mine, and even after that there was a snafu with the billing, as in they never charged my card for it. I even called them and told them this (at which point they claimed that their systems show that they did charge my card, but Wells Fargo and I both disagree), because I didn't want to see them charge someone else for it and have THEM get screwed. I was given an "okay, I'll look into it and charge your card tomorrow", and they STILL didn't charge my card for it, a solid week-plus later. So, free MG for me, I guess. They had their chance.

The vibe I've gotten from the whole experience is that their whole online sales system is held together with bailing twine and chewing gum, and I'm pretty sure I won't be giving them any further business, simply because I don't think I can trust 'em. But you should push them to get what you paid for. (Especially because there are good odds that they're taking a loss for it, which might be why they're dragging on filling orders.)
