Received this information at our station from CBS this afternoon.  

Kinda knew it was coming, but here is the official word (as usual, I cannot link to the affiliate's website, so the article below comes from a CBS press Release):



Power of 10 – Additional Episodes for Midseason
Press Release

CBS ORDERS SIX ADDITIONAL EPISODES OF
"POWER OF 10" FOR MIDSEASON
 
CBS has ordered six additional episodes of the hit new game show POWER OF 10, hosted by Drew Carey, for midseason.
 
POWER OF 10, which currently airs on Tuesdays (8:00-9:00 PM, ET/PT) and Wednesdays (8:00-9:00 PM, ET/PT), averages more than eight million viewers per broadcast and, for the last five broadcasts, it has won its time period in all key measures (homes, viewers, A18-49 and A25-54). On Tuesdays, POWER OF 10 has won its time period both weeks since it began airing on 8/28. On Wednesdays, it has won its time period  three weeks in a row and four out of the six times it has aired.
 
POWER OF 10 will have its summer finale on a special night, Sunday, Sept. 23 (8:00-9:00 PM, ET/PT), so as not to conflict with the reality series premiere of KID NATION on Wednesday, Sept. 19.

Yay!  It'll be nice to see Po10 back!

By my logic, usually the most overhyped shows of the season crash and burn the soonest.

Let's see:
-Celebrity Cooking Showdown
-Grease: The Reality Show!
-The Real Wedding Crashers
-Pirate Master
-The show Donny Osmond did for ABC this summer

There's some more I forgot (for good reason), but I see Kid Nation falling into that trap, esp. with the whole child labor controversy.

I've got $15 on under.

(A lot of it hinges on if that kid really did break his leg as they say in the promos and how they handled that).

I hate the kid show too.  However, from a good source, the execs has a go light for a season 2.  God help us all...

[/quote]They can green light however many seasons they want.  Come week 1, if the meter don't move, then it won't come back.

And I want to change my original statement...Kid Nation will last two weeks.  Week 1 will be where everyone wonders what the heck the uproar was about...then the ratings die off.
