OK so I've searched the board several times (and maybe I'm not putting the right words together), but I'm thinking someone once posted a list or a link to the stations that will be airing Temptation. I've searched the forum and the web a bit and keep coming up with nothing. Can anyone help?
-
I only know it's airing on MYPHL 17 in Philadelphia so I'm sure the rest of the market who's getting it will have it on the MY Network in the particular city.

To my knowledge, there hasn't been such a complete list -- that's why most of us who want to find it, and post the information in this thread (http://\"http://gameshow.ipbhost.com/index.php?showtopic=13420\"), have had to contact each individual station or wait until we could access online TV guides for the premiere week. There have been sporadic articles here and there about individual station groups (most notably the Fox-owned MyNetworkTV stations), and this article (http://\"http://www.hollywoodreporter.com/hr/content_display/news/e3ibd4edd86c815e4a0a7bf4ddadb095147\") that adds a bunch of individual stations, but nothing complete.

Had you bothered to look at any of the threads on when and where Temptation would be airing (including the one I just referenced), you would know that this is incorrect. It's not a MyNetworkTV show, it's a syndicated show and there are numerous non-My stations that will be airing it.

To boot, AFAIK, if you live in a 100+ market and you have a CW station there, it's going to be on that channel. Just a heads up.

By that do you mean bigger or smaller than #100?
-
Most markets smaller than DMA 100 tend to not have a standalone CW affiliate and usually rely on some variant of The CW Plus for that market. (For the unaware: CW Plus is the CW's cable-only or DT-subchannel-only version of The CW provided to small markets usually ran by an existing station in the market).
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/CW_Plus (http://\"http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/CW_Plus\")
It's not used in All sub-100 markets, but quite a few of 'em.
DT subchannels in small markets are fun. I know of at least 1 - Bowling Green, KY - where one station has what for most intents amounts to a triopoly (ABC-FOX-CW) (Though the CW is pretty much entirely just CW Plus), while the other station has NBC and CBS on DT-1 and DT-2 respectively, with plans for MyNetwork as a DT3 sub.

The MyNet affil in Boston/New England has a promo on their site...

Notes:
Unless this was the pilot clips- The set is the aussie one. Which is good.
The theme used over the commerical sounds close to the Aussie one as well...
So far, so good...

The theme being the Aussie one isn't necessarily good...that is by far the weakest aspect of the show. It's a homogenized sax riff with no melody. Think of the Donnymid theme, except less electronic.

True...but It's not terrible either.

Which one? I like the first one...not the remix from '87 or so.
My question...do we know who Rossi's "assistant" is (read: HPOA)?

I agree, it's not terrible, but at the same time, picture that same musical arrangement (the smooth sax, etc) with the classic Sale theme. (Even the classic Aussie sale theme. I would still dearly love to find an in-the-clear of the Aussie Sale theme from Sale Of The New Century.) Would have RULED.

If 20th Television is looking to turn this show into a hit, it's not going to be here in Pittsburgh.
So I read it's going to be on the low power WBGN station which unless you have a really good OTA antenna, or a Comcast system that carries it, you're out of luck.
According to Zap2it, Temptation will air double-run 6-7pm, following and leading into episodes of Degrassi:TNG at 5:30pm and 7pm.
I just love the programming decisions made in this city sometimes, but at least there is one positive that comes of it...We'll never see a episode pre-empted unless some kind of man made or nature made disasters strike the station's building (or shall I say "shack") on Greentree Road.

And maybe we should complain to Comcast. I know I will be. Because it makes NO sense for me to recieve two NBC and CBS stations.

There are people who see getting multiple affiliates of a network as a plus, y'know. :-)

I second that sentiment Dave, I remember when I used to live in between DC and Baltimore, how much I loved getting the DC and Baltimore stations on my cable TV. Back in those days, I loved having the choice of watching one set of newscasts over the other, catching certain programs at times that were convienient to me, etc.
It was a sad day when our cable system had to dump the Baltimore stations due the feds getting involved, and what was sadder was geographically we were closer to B'more and we had to lose those stations because Neilsen had our zip code classifed as DC market.
Those were the days!
-
A third on my part. Up until late 2000, our cable system back home carried a nice little hodgepodge of Nashville, TN locals, Louisville, KY locals and....Detroit, MI locals. (Well, WDIV and WXYZ anyway). That was nice. (Home being in the Nashville DMA pretty much just north on the KY side of the KY/TN border)
-
I had a simallar situation when I lived in Easton Pennsylvamia a few years ago at my oldest niece's house. Not only would I get all the Philly stations but most of the New York stations(thank heavens RCN Cable wasn't anything like Comcast is where I live now).

Yeah, when I lived in the small town of Defiance, OH, it was real nice getting Toledo, OH, and Fort Wayne, IN (and we had a Lima, OH NBC affil) stations, especially during daylight savings when I could catch TPiR at noon if I missed it.
It was also great during NFL season when I'd often get a choice of several games (I felt bad for the people of Toledo who were stuck watching the Browns and Lions lose every week).

This is true...and in all honesty, I would have no problem recieving all of the Central PA affiliates, or heck, even Youngstown's channels. (I used to watch Hollywood Squares via Rabbit ears on CBS-27 as none of the Cleveland stations carried it)
However, WJAC-6 is owned by WPXI-11 out of Pittsburgh. Because of that, the style is the same, the syndicated programs are the same, it's just really, really bland news.
And don't get me started on WTAJ-10.
/this could have all been prevented if WTAE picked up ONE game show

Oh, with the anchors who pronounce "Pollock Road" as an ethnic slur? Or the weathergirl who literally couldn't keep track from day to day how many Dakotas there are? Or the story about the house fire that was "started by the owners...[pregnant pause]...two dogs"?
Words cannot express how nice it is to have WTAE back.

While it might not be an added bonus for you, for others in the Pittsburgh area who are a little slow in *understanding* what they see on TV (especially Steelers fans*), Comcast provides a public service for these people by airing the channels out of Wheeling, West Virginia where it's unusual for someone to actually "get it" the first time around. :-)

I'd bet that WDIV and WXYZ were added initially because some of the cable system headends couldn't pick up a local NBC or ABC affiliate reliably over the air. Back then the only way to get a network affiliate via satellite would have been through Cancom, which uplinked the Detroit locals primarily for Canadian cable systems. (These days, Cancom -- now Shaw Broadcast (http://\"http://www.shawbroadcast.com/\") -- uplinks six sets of US network affiliates for Canadian systems, and Primetime 24 (http://\"http://www.primetime24.net/\") and Dish Network supply network affiliates for US systems that can't get them any other way.)
I suspect that, as in the case of Steve Gavazzi's cable system (which kept WXYZ until fairly recently even though WATM was available), WDIV and WXYZ were left on your system because your actual locals just hadn't bothered to challenge it until then.

The only thing that the Pittsburgh affils are good for is game shows. I forget where I heard that it was rated the worst news market.
At least GSN is main tier and there are a bunch of digital stations I don't see listed in my permanent home in Bucks County.
/AZN TV amuses me.
//But Sci-Fi is digital only. WTF?

Obviously somewhere that never bothered to look at the Johnstown-Altoona market.

After doing a TitanTV search just a couple of minutes ago, I was dissapointed to find out that neither Des Moines/Ames nor Cedar Rapids/Waterloo/Dubuque/Iowa City will be carrying Temptation. When does Crosswords start? If its the 17th, I'll hold out a little hope, but if its the tenth, I guess I'll go without either new show.

Thanks for finding it. I just tried doing the search for it again, and all it brought up was the preview episodes on CW.
Nonetheless, thank you.

I'd like to correct myself for an earlier entry. So far Philly isn't getting Temptation, it can only be seen on WFMZ 69 in Allentown.

According to Zap2It, that's not correct -- it also will air at 3 am weekdays on WTXF.
