Title: Game Show Congress
Post by: tvrandywest on June 13, 2007, 11:30:33 PM
Less than a month to go, and Game Show Congress 2007 is shaping up to be huge. Just to update:

The guests confirmed for the awards luncheon on Sunday, July 15th honoring Bob Stewart and Wink Martindale include Betty White, Betsy Palmer, Barbara Feldon, Florence Henderson, Theresa Ganzel, Johnny Gilbert, Charlie O'Donnell, Geoff Edwards, Earl Holliman, Henry Polic III and the one and only Don Pardo. Expect to see other of the Stewarts' fave celebrity players who have yet to confirm their attendance.

In addition, a bunch of attendees will be at TPiR-Live in Vegas on Friday night. There will be lots of game play on Saturday afternoon and evening, more live game show music from The Ceramic Dalmations, and Chris' "Match Game" fun Sunday afternoon. See you there!

We will be drawing contestants from the audience and there will be a cash prize. Afterwards, there will be hors d'oeuvres and a chance to mingle with your fellow game show fans. I expect MG will end by 6:00 pm which, with hors d'oeuvres and mingling, will give you plenty of time to make it to the Acme for What's My Line?

Seating is limited to 80 (or so).

The perf has 3 as part of his reportage on www.tvgameshows.net (http://\"http://www.tvgameshows.net\")
and I have 3 at the bottom of the "photos" page at www.tvrandywest.com (http://\"http://www.tvrandywest.com\")
They are all from the luncheon. Hopefully more, including some from the MG event, will see the light of day. I have a few that I can e-mail to someone willing to host them.

The Suchards were gracious enough to E-mail me six photos from the MG event (they turned out nicely, in spite of the fact that I'm in four of them), but I don't have a site to post them on.  If anyone's willing to host them, I'll be happy to send 'em.

I took some photos as well (mostly at the luncheon)--some turned out better than others.  Again, no site to host on but I'd be happy to share what I have.

I use Photobucket (http://\"http://www.photobucket.com\"). It allows you to resize pictures, and it's free.

There's others, but again, I use that, and it's quite simple. Just upload from your comp and link to those.

I've also got the video of the luncheon, which I'm working to get edited.  Our videographer recorded in high definition for some reason, and I've got a little bit of a learning curve before I'm ready to deal with that.

Charlie told me he just lost 95 pounds.
Ellen is prettier than in the picture, and

Those pix with Pardo, Betty and Ann Cullen are absolutely priceless!

And now there is photographic evidence that we put on a performance of Match Game!

Our first contestant, who can be seen in the photo, is an attorney for BMI. He was actually my living nightmare! I was using all of this production music without any regard for performance rights, and my nightmare was that an attorney from BMI would show up and bust me. It turns out that as long as the venue is licensed (Holiday Inn), we were OK. He was real nice about it and not concerned about our music use.

The only thing that could possibly have been any worse is to have drawn a child to play.

At least the child knew how to play the game.   :)

Had she stayed around, most of the material would have been over her head. It's just as well that she was eliminated early on.

While there might be many reasons for a producer to be concerned that a child is playing a game designed for adults, I've learned that "over her head" is not a phrase I would ever, ever use with any member of the Suchard family.

Emma.  And having not seen Maddie in person in a couple of years, I stupidly assumed she hadn't aged any in that period of time and mistook her for her younger sister.  Both girls were terribly understanding of the old, stupid bald guy.
