Title: NBC Fall Schedule
Post by: davemackey on May 14, 2007, 12:07:30 PM
The NBC fall schedule has been announced. DOND returns twice weekly as does 1 vs. 100, but Penn Jillette assumes a new "Identity": former game show host.

To be exact, "1v100" is rotating with that "Singing Bee" show we've heard about in what NBC's calling "Game Night."  "1v100" will run for 8 weeks and then "Singing Bee" for 6 weeks--and then we'll see who stays and who goes.  (I would also expect another week-before-Christmas roadblock of a new game show we don't know about yet.)  "Singing Bee" has no host yet.

And the other new reality comp ("Biggest Loser"'s back on Tuesday) is mid-season--"World Moves," a group dance comp produced by Randy Jackson, which means it'll be a little pitchy but still aiight, dawg.

I guess we'll never see Rich Fields' episode. (unless GSN eventually picks this up)

Either NBC pulled the episode due to it's ratings or maybe CBS/Price had a problem with it airing on NBC (similar to Claudia Jordan on Dog Eat Dog)

That's too bad.

"But 'No-Talent Hack' isn't on the board, Penn..."

Snarky comments aside, I hope that episode does air someday.

But couldn't it be possible that Identity will come back next Dec/Jan, off sweeps? (when it actually did better?)

I wouldn't think that Identity is outright canceled - if 1 vs 100 is on the fall sked, I wouldn't expect to see Identity there, and vice versa...since they were never on at the same time except for maybe a one-off week here or there. Identity really didn't do THAT bad in its TP, so we'll see.

I believe I mentioned this on Buzzerblog, but the show's problem was that they tried to stretch a half-hour of content into an hour-long show. Case in point: the extra long reveals of identities. Supposed to look dramatic, but tedious at best.

Honestly, this was a bonus round concept stretched into an hour-long show. And it translated horribly.
