(Pardon me if this is an old topic, but I couldn't find any other mentions of it on any of the boards)
How do they have a show inducting WWTBAM? into the "Game Show Hall of Fame" without mentioning the word "llama" once? Also, there should have been more mentions of other countries' versions (including a mention of the "coughing" incident in the UK).
Speaking of which, was it ever agreed upon whether "llama" referred to anyone who walked away from a show with zero, or specifically to somebody who missed the first question?
(And from the looks of the show's opening credits, Match Game, Family Feud, TPIR, and Hollywood Squares will probably be inducted as well - anybody have any shows they want in? I would think Jeopardy!, What's My Line, and Wheel of Fortune (my only objection to WoF would be there's only been one "version", but you can say the same about WWTBAM?) are locks, but if I had a "personal" choice, I'd add College Bowl - true it hasn't been on regularly in over 35 years, but it's still familar to a sizable number of people, even those who weren't even alive when NBC cancelled the show.)

The use of the term 'llama' is pretty much confined to the tiny handful of us here on the internet.

People do watch GSN outside of those who talk about it on the Internet. Not everyone outside the internet even knows what the term "llama" means when put in that context.
Matt is correct.

Yeah, and don't you think that poor guy has suffered enough?

It's not like old Rob Roseman's done too bad since then. Looks like he did respectably in a little old poker game. (http://\"http://www.gamesandcasino.com/world_series_of_poker/\") (Search the page for Rob Roseman.)

Roseman...is that the one who Rosie O'Donnell gave a new car (at the time) to?

The Rob Roseman who placed high at the WSOP is from Miami. When Robby appeared, he was working at the Chicago Merc (IIRC). I don't believe that they are one and the same.

Yep, gave him a Honda Civic, as per this article. (http://\"http://web.dailycamera.com/entertainment/stories/12erose.html\")
Funny you'd mention it; I just found the article last night.

When you make an ass of yourself, ridicule follows.
How do you think some of those 60s Newlywed couples feel?
-
Actually worried that someone is speaking ill of them on the Internet in 2007?
Like worm food?
How many guesses do I get?

I disagree, how do you equate missing a first tier question with making an ass of yourself? It's simply one of those occasions where he didn't know.

Understandable, but common sense will usually tell you that a llama is not the best thing to use when you're trying to get over the Alps. (As it turned out, neither is an elephant, but the story of Hannibal and his elephants has been shared many millions of times over the years, and it's fairly common knowledge.)
That said, though, it's 7 years later. If you still think the guy deserves to be ridiculed for it, you are a shallow, petty person. 'Nuff said.

I believe ESPN mentioned it in their WSOP coverage about his missing the first question on BAM. It was him.

Then using more than one lifeline would've been in order. That's why they're there. What looks worse--admitting to the audience that you don't know the answer to the $100 question and needing their help, or blind guessing (after using the 50/50) because you want to save your lifelines and being wrong and winding up with nothing?
While I wouldn't ridicule him as I would, say, the idjit from Arkansas whose DoND was reaired this past weekend, I do think it's legitimate to question his strategy. Probably more likely the ATA lifeline would have been the better one to use instead of the 50/50.

I haven't watched DoND for months, but I'm curious -- what made this particular idjit stand out from the other ones?

Guessing, I think it was the overweight guy who lives with his sister, and turned down a nice six-figure payday.
/and what six-figure payday ISN'T nice?!
If it's that guy, he wound up with $10.

<equine jerky>Serves him right, too. Holy man, what I could do with $200,000. </equine jerky>

A screencap of that reveal would be a fine start to a great PWNED pic.
