Here's all 100 of them in alphabetical order... (http://\"http://sev.prnewswire.com/television/20061122/NYW07722112006-1.html\") The ranking won't be revealed for a couple of weeks, but I have to think COD! has to be in the top 10-15....

Bob Eubanks said "Making whoopee"? That's like saying Gracie Allen said, "Goodnight, Gracie."
-
This isn't the same survey that Ken Jennings was working on a few months back, is it? 'Cause there are far too many better Game Show catch phrases that could have been used besides "Makin' Whoopee".
The least TV Land should have done was just use the term 'whoopee' as I don't even recall Bob ever putting those two words together.
-
Here's how I see these quotes ranked:
Come on down! Definitely Top 20, maybe Top 10.
Is that your final answer? Probably in the high 20's or low 30's.
Making whoopie: Probably near the middle of the pack although it was said quite often on TNG.
The tribe has spoken Most likely a Top 10 ranking.
You're fired! Definitely Top 10, maybe Top 5.

Maybe that was your point, but actually, Gracie Allen NEVER said "Goodnight, Gracie" when George Burns asked her to say good night. She simply said "Good night"

Seems to me there was a program which got a lot of mileage out of the phrase, "Will the real (BLANK) please stand up?". Another program made famous the phrase, "Is it bigger than a breadbox?".
I'd say they missed a few.

I seem to recall our group fixating more on "special grand prize chosen just for you" and "safely secluded backstage" (last one was my suggestion) as Newlywed Game catchphrases. But what do we know?

That was his point. Half a whoosh to you. Maybe just a quarter of one, actually.

My favorite NG phrase was when it got late in the game and all of a sudden Bob switches from jovial to "hurry, please" mode.
-
(reads description of episodes)
I am not planning to adjust my schedule for TV Land's Top 100 TV Moments and Characters, But We've Done That to Death, So We'll Bend Over Backwards to Connect Them All to "Catchphrases".
And I don't think anyone answered the Ken question. I'm pretty sure he was researching a magazine article, which was (is?) to be about game show catchphrases specifically.
-
I'm just surprised "Survey Says" didn't make the list.

Which brings up an interesting query...
How would anyone feel about us doing our own in-board survey on game show phrases, like we did with shows and hosts? I'll handle all the rules, scheduling and tabulating (unless someone else steps forward and insists, won't hurt my feelings), if the moderators approve and if there's more interest than "hell no" 's.

I guess the final answer...er, decision, is up to the moderators, but I'd vote yes to that!
-
And the rankings.... (http://\"http://www.tvland.com/originals/catchphrases/quotes.jhtml\") I don't have a problem with most of the top 10...but COD! should replace #3 on that list....

So Johnny O's in between Walter Cronkite and Michael Buffer. Talk about strange bedfellows...

General thoughts on the list...
#47 -- "How YOU doin'?" (Joey Tribbiani, "Friends")
#46 -- "Is that your final answer?" (Regis Philbin, "Who Wants to Be a Millionaire")
#45 -- "Read my lips: No new taxes!" (George H.W. Bush)
That's a sandwich on Reege's part if I've ever seen one.
I agree that "Come on DOWN!" should have been higher.
One on that list (no GS related)....#57 -- "Do you believe in miracles?" (Al Michaels, 1980 Winter Olympics). Definitely should have been higher. That was just more than a hockey match...it was the good guys (US) vs. the bad guys (USSR) in a really touchy diplomatic time.
My two cents.

I remember watching that game. I was 9 years old, and not even the die-hard hockey fanatic that I am now.
It was truly something. And not even the gold medal game!

And as the lone sports call on the list, it should be higher. Although I'd want to make room for Brent Musburger's ever-popular "you are looking live."
"You're fired" in the top five? Good heavens. And I'm a Peanuts fan, but "good grief" isn't memorable from television but the strip.
