Title: Celebrity Jeopardy! Line-ups
Post by: chad1m on November 08, 2006, 07:28:32 PM
I was wondering if anyone happened to know if the full line-ups for the Celebrity Jeopardy! games were available. I know they reveal the next day's participants during the break between Double and Final, but I'd love to see the full information. Any help is appreciated - thank you!

Is this (http://\"http://www.jeopardy.com/mini_sites/celebrity_jeopardy06/players.php\") what you're looking for?  It has the lineup for each show.

Yes! I guess I didn't navigate that site well enough. Thank you very much.

I'm assuming someone in the Miguel Ferrer - Steve Schirippa - Harry Smith match was a late substitute for Rachael Ray?

That would be Mr. Smith.  No explanation of why, but it was mentioned on the Jeopardy discussion board.

Well, if they got Nancy Grace, maybe they decided they had filled their "smarmy and irritating" quota. :)

Interesting...even though I can't stand her show, it seemed like a perfect cross-promotion, with the King World connection.

For some reason, I don't think Dr. Phil would've minded doing this type of thing.

They used the word "respected" in her introduction.  My respect for the show went down a few notches after that.

Well, the Evil Liberal Media refers to Ann Coulter as "female", too.

I doubt she's female.  In fact, scentists are still debating what planet she's from.

Ann Coulter was in my college class, and I was probably in some of the same classes, given we had the same major.  She was female -- and a lot less blonde then, too.

Nancy Grace isn't pictured in the Entertainment Weekly ad promoting the celebs week, but Rachel Ray is.

Is this where I confess that I have a signed copy of Ann Coulter's book High Crimes and Misdemeanors on my shelf?  Currently it's sitting between Geraldo Rivera's Exposing Myself and Phil Donahue's Donahue, both also signed.  (Gotta be fair and balanced, y'know.)

Yeah, I like her... I don't agree with everything she says (McCarthy wasn't innocent, natch), but I like her.  Live with it. :-P

I don't think Coulter's political views are the reason David likes her.  :-)

Some yes, some no.  On both appearance and point of view, however, this conservative (http://\"http://www.lauraingraham.com/\") blonde (http://\"http://homepage.mac.com/dzinkin/happyfunworld/ingraham2001.jpg\") is more to my liking. :-)

I don't know if this was the reason because of the taping schedules, but apparently she cut her hand badly when she was doing an apperance on "Iron Chef America" (which airs this weekend BTW), so that could have been a cause....

But I am really looking forward to that Friday show...I had to think they'd do the L+O vs L+O CI cs L+O SVU game when they first released the celeb list...

But Ray could still appear in a package on last night's "Dancing With the Stars:  The Severe Padding of an Hour" as a "representative of the media."  To which I suspect they could've put in an insert of Bergeron falling on the floor in laughter at this news.

ObGameShow:  Also in the piece was "Extra"'s Tanika Ray, a/k/a Cyber-Lucy.

Anyone know which one of these shows is actually #5,000?  Or are they just going to surprise us?

None of them is. As someone on the Jeopardy! message boards noted yesterday, "episode #5000", "the 5000th episode", and "the 5000th game" were three different half-hours, and all of them had been aired by the end of September 2006. This "event" is just supposed to be commemorating their having reached that milestone.

They are celebrating their 5000 episode milestone with this tournament, but in fact the 5000th episode has already come and gone back in September.  (And because some reruns were counted in the numbering system back in the first season, the episode numbers are a few dozen off anyway.)

I've not heard that they're doing any specific retrospective or additional acknowledgement of the milestone.

EDIT: I'm a little slow on the buzzer with regard to Jeopardy.  Not the first time.

According to my producer contacts, they're not. Reason : they feel they just 'did that' with the 4000th not long ago. Aside from KenJen, what has been so memorable in the last thou?
