Title: Millionaire instant message
Post by: booboo on September 24, 2006, 04:31:51 PM
Does anyone know what happened to that feature on America Online where if you had the screen name Millionaire IM on your buddy list, that while they were taping "Millionaire"  that when a player used their ask the audience lifeline, of course assuming you were logged in at that moment, you would be able to answer the question, and those results would be included as part of the results, although in a different section, one for the studio, the other for america online.  (Btw, I was gonna put "AOL" instead of america online, but i didn't want to take the risk of upsetting anybody, although i wasn't sure if it would, but since i wasn't sure, better safe than sorry)

As has been noted in a very recent thread (http://\"http://gameshow.ipbhost.com/index.php?s=&showtopic=11416&view=findpost&p=131405\"), AOL is no longer a part of the lifeline, probably because AOL is no longer a sponsor.

As you have been told several times publicly and several more times in private, legitimate, commonly-used abbreviations are perfectly acceptable here.  You know darned well that "AOL" fits into that category, and you're simply upset that you were told not to make up your own abbreviations for every word in the English language.

You'd be much better off if you'd accept the fact that we expect you to behave in an adult manner and move on.

Not that it really matters, but the official company/product name is now "AOL".
