It's like trying to figure out the plot of a porn movie: It doesn't matter.

Wow.

IMdB'd the show (since Wiki's article was slim...and nothing else really came up on Yahoo)...who the hell would want to watch this?

Sound like the winner's winnings would be sexual arousement.

IMDb says it lasted 7 years. Were these "GSN seasons", meaning 13 weeks and out, or regular seasons (i.e. Sept.-May)?

I can't believe there's a Yahoo group for it though.

/And you thought the random groups for game show producers was bad.

Less than even GSN.  It was more or less weekly, as I recall, and I doubt they made more than thirteen episodes a season.

But that's okay, you know. After all, I believe no more than thirteen teleplays of Thrills were produced. And how often do you suppose one would land on an episode of that series and say, "Oh, I've already seen this one", then turn the set off?

No reason to. You just shouldn't be a) surprised and b) pissy about it when you don't get an answer.

Let's see...AllStar mentioned an IMDb listing, which from what I saw, actually offered pretty extensive info on the show, considering it's been off the air for almost 20 years. I don't think you're going to find too much else on this show.

And in case you didn't read the IMDb listing:

At the end of the game, one final question determined the outcome of the game. Whoever won that question won the game, some prizes and the right to take off all of the other person's clothes (except his/her G-string).

Because I happened to have some free time, I actually went back and looked at my two episodes.  In a 1981 episode, the winner got a trip to Mazatlan, Mexico.  In a 1984 episode, the prize was $1000 cash.

I realize that the least important part of the show was the game itself, but I still found this interesting.  No matter what happened throughout the show, the only thing that mattered was the last question, and for that question, they gave an ever-so-slight "pass or play" advantage to the contestant with the least clothes on.  In other words, it was a game where, strategically (yeah, right...), the best thing to do would be to get every question wrong except the last one.

Hey, I was a good looking guy in 1981!

/Well, at least I had hair.
//Actually, I already had a lot less hair by 1984.
///Am I doing these slashy things right?

I would like to point out, just for the record, that we are now discussing strategy and gameplay nits for a show where the main reason it was on the air was people stripping. :)

(I presume it was like Hollywood Squares, then? Right answer and you're safe, wrong answer and you lose your shirt, as it were?)

I would make a joke here about Strip Poker (with Graham Elwood), but thankfully, I can no longer remember anything about that show.

(All right, I remembered the host. But I just heard the host on a podcast the other day. Sue me.)
