Post by: pownster on September 10, 2006, 11:08:20 AM
In a program that has justed aired tonight - "50 Years 50 Stars" - a total of 10 living personalities associated with game shows made the list. A most notable one was Reg Grundy - who we all know was one of the pioneer in game show production around the world. A clip shown tonight featured Reg Grundy hosting an early version of "Wheel of Fortune" here in Australia, plus a number of interview pieces.

The list of personalities to make the list (with ranking) were:

49 - Roy & HG (Win Roy & HG's Money [2000])
47 - Mark Mitchell (EC Plays Lift Off [1994] - one-off children's GS)
43 - Kerri-Anne Kennerley (Greed [2001])
29 - Reg Grundy (Wheel of Fortune [1959-1962]) plus many international productions - most notably "Sale of the Century".
26 - Stuart Wagstaff - permanent panellist on Graham Kennedy's "Blankety Blanks" [1977-1980].
23 - Noeline Brown - permanent panellist on Graham Kennedy's "Blankety Blanks" [1977-1980].
15 - Daryl Somers (Family Feud [1980-1983], Blankety Blanks [1985-1986])
14 - Molly Meldrum - $500,000 winner on WWTBAM.
12 - Eddie McGuire (Who Wants to Be a Millionaire [1999-])

No Graham Kennedy or Ugly Dave Gray?  I can understand glossing over Gray, but Graham Kennedy?

Edit: Darn those little words like "living". It's early on a Sunday morning. My bad. Carry on.

Graham is not included because he is no longer with us - only living people have been included. He would have undoubtedly topped the list otherwise.

Ugly Dave Grey obviously featured on "Blankety Blanks" and even hosted "Celebrity Tattletales" - but didn't quite reach the calibre of the other celebs mentioned.
