Here is a direct link to info/illustration of the new Password DVD game:
http://www.spilsbury.com/webapp/wcs/stores...mNo=2&totalNo=2 (http://\"http://www.spilsbury.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/ProductDisplay?catalogId=30001&storeId=10001&productId=21738&langId=-1&parent_category_rn=11111&categoryId=11111&ref=spilsbury&itemNo=2&totalNo=2\")
It wouldn't surprise if the actual game keeps score on-screen, instead of having scoring sheets and pen as shown in the illustration. Walmart's website shows the Newlywed Game DVD, complete with scoring pad, but the actual game keeps score on-screen, and doesn't include a scoring pad.

Cool. Me and some co-workers have been playing the "Plus/Super" versions on our down-time, and I'm sure there's at least one co-worker who'd love to see this.
Thanks!

I can see why some games (TPIR and LMAD, e.g.) would benefit from a DVD edition, but I can't see much advantage for Password. In the box game, you stick a card in a sleeve and look through the red window to see the password. On the DVD, you look through the red glasses at a TV screen to see it. If anything, the DVD version seems more cumbersome.
Oh, well. If it interests more people in the game show itself, it'll be a good thing.
I see they're using the ABC logo.

The line that amused me was "Television not included".

The one and only Todd Newton "hosts" the Password DVD game. Bob Eubanks "hosts" the Newlywed DVD Game. Production begins shortly on another classic game show's DVD version (hint: it was a game revived for CBS' GSM... in addition to the LMAD DVD game already out).

Is Endless holding a seance to raise Bud Collyer from the dead? :)

The one that makes the most sense to me is "Press Your Luck". That's gotta be easy to do; just hit a button on your remote, win thousands in imaginary money.

The one that it will be, however, is "Match Game". I'd be surprised if it was anything else.

Last year at this time, I'd seen Press Your Luck listed as one of the "coming soon," games from B1 Games, on their website. This company has worked in conjunction with Pressman in developing the combination DVD/Board games based on 24, American Chopper, and Amazing Race.
Their website does not list PYL anymore, but unless Randy was referring to the MG DVD game, the only other possibilities would be PYL or Card Sharks (Beat the Clock DVD isn't highly likely, IMHO!).

I don't know...to do BTC all you would need is some dry ice, a dozen milk bottles, a couple of playpens, some string and pulleys, some helium.....

I am looking forward to the Password DVD game, but I really wish it could have been Super/Plus version. I find it more entertaining to try and solve the puzzles, and not just guess random words.

I'm betting Card Sharks, because I believe that the creating the inner workings of that show onto a DVD format are much simpler than those of Press Your Luck's. However, with this quiet surge of game show DVD's hitting the market, I cannot see PYL being too far behind.
Now if only we could bring Mr. Perry out of retirement to provide the voicework for the calling of the cards.

I wonder how much extra work would have to be put into actually guessing the puzzle...the clue words are no problem, but would it be difficult to have the player type in their guess for the puzzle?

Has anyone found the Password DVD game in stores yet? According to Amazon.com and Target.com, they both have the game as "in stock" and Target also says it is available in stores.

One of the quickest ways to see if something has hit the market yet is to see if anybody's selling it new on Ebay. The Password DVD has yet to appear.

Pity it's not MG. That seems like the one that would benefit most from being on DVD.

Wasn't Endless going to bring out an "MG" DVD game with lotsa clips from the 70s version this year?

While searching for the game, some website mentioned the game is hosted by "Charmin' Chuck Harmon!" Sounds like Todd will be taking on a fictional game show ID, if it is true!
I was almost gonna order this and Deluxe Wheel of Fortune from Target.com, until I saw how much the shipping charge would've been! I imagine the stores will have Password DVD soon. The store near me has a shelf with three facings of the Price is Right DVD game, which makes me think maybe the space is reserved for Password and Match Game DVD games, just temporarily occupying extra TPIR, to fill the counter for now.
