From the Prof (Zap2it confirms a few of these): http://www.tvgameshows.net/breakingnews.htm (http://\"http://www.tvgameshows.net/breakingnews.htm\")
Highlights: 'Card Sharks' gets a 2-3PM hour-long block weekdays with back-to-back Perry/Eubanks episodes (Rafferty gets an hour-long block 9-10AM weekends), 'Super Password' moves to 4:00PM as lead-in into 4:30PM Dawson episode of 'Feud' (no more George Gray 'Weakest Link' and 'Millionaire' takes over the 5PM 'Feud' hour), Bergeron's 'H2O' moves to 6:00PM weekdays as lead-in to a 6:30 repeat of 'IGAS '06' and, last but certainly least, Bud Collyer's 'Beat the Clock' returns to 3:00AM. There's also a 7-episode '50 Greatest Game Shows' series of specials GSN is scheduling for mid-July and a few other minor alterations ('DED,' 'Celebrity Blackjack II,' etc.).
'The Network for Games'? Sounds more like 'Game Show Network' to me! :-)

No, based on your posting history, I'm quite sure there will be many more moments of shame in the future.

Thank you Mr. Sunshine!

When you have been told more than once to post GSN-related news in the GSN forum, and you continue to refuse to do so, the result tends to be the same as it is for anyone who repeatedly refuses to follow instructions: criticism. You might not like Mr. Lemon's brand of it; however, I know for a fact that you've been reminded of this far less harshly, yet that didn't seem to make an impression.

Dave, you'll have to give the kid a little credit. He's from the GSN boards, where such moronic behavior goes unabated and without reprimand.

Why not just make this thread disappear and we can all live happily pretending it never existed? Why keep it alive and continue to make me look like I'm the second coming of Zach or something? Can't we all just get along (snore)?

I'm going to ask you the very same question I asked Mr. Kleist: If you don't like being criticized, and you know you get criticized when you do certain things, why do you keep doing those things?
To others: please do not answer the question for Mr. dad1153. I really want to know the motivation behind this kind of behavior. (Hint: the answer is not "it's Lemon's fault" or "it's tvwxman's fault.")

It's hard not to have issues when you hate pretty much everyone in existence.
I keep looking for evidence that Jeremy's changed his view of us but considering how long he's had this view (http://\"http://groups.google.com/group/alt.tv.game-shows/browse_frm/thread/070ea9b59e4a6bc8/7a47bcbfc30472a1?#7a47bcbfc30472a1\"), I don't expect to find such evidence anytime soon. I can only imagine what it's like for him to spend so much time around people he despises so much.

Don't mind him, he just lost at another DDR game. He'll get over it.
Seriously, I've seen Jeremy's type. Notice the only time he speaks up is to either insult the posters ("otaku"), or to take potshots at the mods. Rarely to offer something actually related to game shows. Basically, PJTP, just to get a rise out of posters, something he's been doing since the newsgroup days. This is the man who whined like a little baby about the overuse of nicknames on ATGS, and that the group was full of eggheads and assholes. (Hmmmm, now if you're part of the newsgroup, wouldn't you fall into that category too?)
More or less, he's trolling. I think he's just challenging to mods to ban him as well.

If the nature of your job makes you unable to take the time to post properly when you're at work, perhaps you should not be posting from work at all. That is particularly true if it's going to lead you to do something that, again, you knew you weren't supposed to do because you'd been told multiple times in the past.

Oh, so close to the correct answer! We were looking for "Sorry, and I'll try not to do it again." You see, "hey, s*** happens" is something you say when a situation is out of your control. This is not a complicated forum that requires you to "search the site properly". There is an obvious place to post GSN news, where you would have seen an obvious thread. If you can't be bothered to do that, then at the very minimum you shouln't be surprised when you're criticized for your sloppiness. We don't like it when you goof either.

There's a Bed, Bath and Beyond joke here, I'm sure of it.
Xavier, we're a lot different than the GSN boards, for good and bad reasons. Simply put, we're a private board run by fans, not by a company. We ask a little more from our members and we like to think that we work a little harder at keeping the board running smoothly. What "dad" did wasn't horrible, and it certainly wasn't malicious, but it was something we've told him repeatedly -- more than "once or twice" -- NOT to do, and he keeps doing it anyway. If somebody kept doing something to you that you didn't like, and he wouldn't stop even after you told him not to, you'd probably get mad too.

Everyone makes mistakes, but no one likes dealing with people who refuse to learn from theirs -- in dad1153's case, a refusal that's occurred repeatedly.
This isn't rocket science, folks. We don't expect you to solve calculus problems, translate Arabic to Pashto, or turn gazpacho into gold. Our rules just aren't complicated. Everyone makes mistakes, but when you keep making the same ones over and over again, it is NOT everyone else's fault and "s**t happens" doesn't cover it.

There's enough of an overlap in membership between the two boards to make me doubt that xavier45 needed to have dad1153 inform him of our board's existence. And thanks to the tolerance -- no, make that encouragement of breaches of netiquette by the GSN board's moderators, there are enough severely misguided individuals there to make me doubt that xavier45 needed any encouragement to defend dad1153.
I'm with Chris on this one -- it's not out of the realm of possibility but it isn't the most obvious explanation either in my view.

Close. June 2002. It and the weekend Password Plus got pulled for Friend or Foe/Russian Roulette. Going through some old tapes...recently, reaffirmed that.

What's the whole story with NYSI 89 not airing? I've heard over the years it's because Chuck Henry is embarassed over it, or something to that effect. If it's the host who doesn't want it played, isn't there a certain amount of time since the show, where he can't do anything about it?

I thought I made that point clearly last time 'round. I guess not, and I won't bother trying again.
Anyway, it's completely irrelevant when saying that I think the posts of "As we say on the GSN Boards..." and a certain poster's signature that quotes a GSN post for unknown reasons, are totally unwanted here. They serve no purpose other than to inflame.

It is pretty certain that MGP did reclear all of their shows for GSN, since the words "cable television" weren't in the original contracts for most of the talent. I'm still assuming that Henry's contract for "NYSI" would've said something that MGP had the right to sell the program and show his image for "any manner of television transmission in common use now and in the future" without Henry's permission as long as residuals were paid to the talent, it being 1989, but they went to everyone and he said "no"--and MGP respected his wishes when they probably didn't need to. The mark of a class operation.

Well, didn't CBN show the series...but only the Farago episodes?
That would shed a little light on the subject, perhaps...

Perhaps--the fact that it came right off of syndication to cable and wasn't 25-to-40 years after the fact could still be a factor.
I also suspect that the ownership of that version of "BTB" is up in the air--and the fact that the show's unpopularity will never see it repeated again ever makes it pretty sure that the problem won't even be approached at any time soon.
(And I suspect that if Michael Davies or Harry Friedman wants to revive the "BTB '76" format for Sony, they would probably have to call it something else, since Sony doesn't own the "BTB" title--just like Fremantle would have to call "Scrabble" something else, unless they ponied up another license fee to Hasbro.)

That's quite possible, but respecting their wishes is a lot different than suggesting that the talent can "veto it for the rest of their life...if they want to."

Actually, "veto it for the rest of their life...if they want to" is closer to the truth. According to a letter I got from David Schwartz in 1996 (back when people at GSN actually gave detailed answers), he stated that every celebrity appearance after 1973 must be cleared. Therefore, based on that statement, any celebrity *could* state that they don't want those episodes aired again. A classic example would be the Newharts appearances on Tattletales - although it's been speculated that it might have been Ginny that refused to sign the waiver, since Bob's appearances on Hollywood Squares from the mid-70s have been aired.
I'm not sure why 1973 is the key year, that wasn't explained in the David's answer, but the same thing would likely hold true for music clearances, which explain why the '70s Treasure Hunt has never aired regularly on GSN and music from the late '70s Newlywed Game was altered.

And legally, I'm sure that MGP could tell them to FOAD and clear it to air anyhow if they like.
The point is that in the strict terms of the law, there is nothing protecting the talent here. This is a policy that MGP seems to be enforcing out of courtesy as a term of their agreement with GSN, and your Tattletales / Hollywood Squares example just seems to back that up.

It was only the Farago episodes shown, though CBN only aired BtB85 for four months(9/1/86-12/26/86). If Rayburn were to have cleared his appearances for that show to air on CBN back then(and my guess is he didn't), CBN pulled the plug on the show before they could swing back around to his episodes. An ad for the CBN afternoon lineup of TTD(Wink 1984-85) and BtB85 as seen in the January 1987 episode of TV Game $how Magazine showed a pic of a Rayburn episode (with Rayburn and the contestants seen in the distance)with a couple breaking the bank.
