Title: Howie Mandel sighting
Post by: BrandonFG on June 05, 2006, 07:51:08 AM
Howie Mandel's making an appearance on the Today Show. He appears toward the end of the first hour.

He talks about a modest little game show called "Deal or No Deal", as well as his battle with OCD.

Personally, I've never heard of the show...NBC must never air it, or they never advertise it. This show will never be a hit...

/JOKE.

As long as we're talking Howie, there's also a page about him in the current Entertainment Weekly (with the cast of Entourage on the cover).  It's a photo of him in his office, with brief comments about some of the unusual items he has there, including the simple prototype game board a producer showed him when they were pitching him DoND.

Also in this week's EW (unless it's already been covered on a thread I haven't seen yet), great celeb moments on game shows, including Shatner throwing the chair out, the School Riot and Bobcat Goldwait claiming that "Squares" banned him after his first appearance on the show.

And in last week's EW, a feature on the distinguished character actor Harry Dean Stanton (currently seen as the patriarch of the not-really-Mormon-so-we-don't-get-sued commune on HBO's "Big Love") reveals that he's a big GSN fan (called by the article "Game Show Network"--it ain't workin', Rich) and that he thoroughly approves of Shandi's presence on "Lingo."  Did I say that he's 80 years old (although not your typical 80-year-old)?
