No, he's not in a new Orbitz ad...
But today he received the 2,313rd star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame!
Brian
Indianapolis is the capital of Michigan?

And for those of you who ignore Brian, congrats to the Winker for being the most recent Walk of Fame honoree.

Nah, I like Dave's idea better. :)
Hopefully I'll get the chance to congratulate the Winker in Burbank next month.

I had to address this.

2,313rd? How does that read? "Two thousand three hundred onety-third?"

Remember who you're quoting. That in itself should explain everything. :)

It has nothing to do with being lazy, and everything to do with not reading posts made by idiots who we have been told to ignore repeatedly by Our Benevolent Moderators when we have expressed frustration about them.
-
It also has something to do with not being mentalists (SEE ALSO "Kreskin on DoND"). When I first saw this post sitting by itself in the list of subjects, I had good odds on it being a celebration of Wink's unbirthday, or perhaps his cameo on a lottery show in 1997. Dave took the bullet for us, and it turned out to only be a flesh wound.
-
Just to be a nitpicky bitch again...
2313th is the correct form of that.
"Two thousand, three-hundred thirteenth" sounds better than what Los...er....whoserman said.
Wink deserves a spot on the Walk of Fame. He has for a very long time now. For those in the know, so I can have a picture by it next time I'm out there... where on Hollywood Blvd. is the Winker's new star?

At the entrance to the Hollywood Roosevelt Hotel, across from Mann's Chinese Theater. Between Tom Hanks and Suzanne Sommers (insert Thigh-master joke here). But I think much of this was covered HERE (http://\"http://gameshow.ipbhost.com/index.php?showtopic=10452&hl=\").

What I did to deserve that is beyond me, but for the sake of the thread, I will not call you out.

Mods, can we get access to some sort of embedded WAV file of Dick Clark yelling "Read it again!" for moments like these?
-
Two things:
1) Congrats, of course, to Wink. I would've thought that perhaps he'd gotten another one for his tenure on Los Angeles radio (KMPC if memory serves me right).
2) Haven't seen much of Ms. Winkfan herself in these parts lately.

IIRC, Wink had a pretty significant amount of time at KHJ-radio, as well.
and yea....where has she been? =/
By the way, thanks for the thread link, Randy. I'll have to check out the star next time I'm near there. =)

Is she still using WebTV/MSN TV as her ISP? It's my understanding that the latest revision to the Invision board software doesn't play nice with WebTV.

Ooh, can we find one that does the same thing, but with AOL? :)

I thought it was at KFWB--if it was at KHJ, it was before Boss Radio. The Winker never worked for Bill Drake.
And of course, on the air before Wink on KMPC for a good part of his stint there was some guy named Geoff Edwards. Coming on after Wink was Gary Owens. Not a bad DJ lineup.
