From ctv.ca (http://\"http://www.ctv.ca/servlet/ArticleNews/show/CTVShows/20060517/gameshow_marathon_default/20060517/\"):
"GAMESHOW MARATHON features six celebrity contestants competing in a weekly elimination-style tournament in which they play different classic game shows each episode including "The Price Is Right," "Let's Make a Deal," "Beat the Clock," "Press Your Luck," "Card Sharks," "Match Game" and "Family Feud." Celebrities participating include Tim Meadows ("Saturday Night Live"), Leslie Nielsen ("Airplane"), Kathy Najimy ("Sister Act"), Lance Bass ('N Sync), Paige Davis ("Trading Spaces") and Brande Roderick ("Baywatch").
A champion will be crowned at the end of the competition. In addition, the program will include a viewer participation element whereby they will have a chance to win the celebrity's grand prize each episode through a wireless (text message) trivia game that enters viewers into a sweepstakes."
There's also a neat banner of Rikki Lake and her mic in front of TPiR set.

<gasp!>
But...but...she's not holding the long skinny mic that Barker uses!!!!!1!11!!! Between this and MG using the wrong font for the celebrity nameplates, this show is doomed! OMG!!!11! I REFUSE to watch!!!!!1! Me and my inflatable girlfriend will be watching something else on the 31st. Hmph.
-
What I find interesting is that CTV has a website up for the show (such as it is) before freakin' CBS does.
Me and my inflatable girlfriend will be firmly planted in front of the television on the 31st.

Honestly guys, I don't know what's sadder, your lack of social lives or your lack of grammar skills.

Count me in (no inflatable girlfriend, sorry).

I half expected Coolio to be in the celebrity list since he'd been hitting almost every game show that took celebraties lately...

There might be some sarcasm I'm missing in your post, but you do realize that I was being sarcastic myself, right? I am honestly looking forward to the marathon, and was simply making a joke with all the nitpicking.

I don't think that was the knock, I think the knock was that we were supposed to say "my inflatable girlfriend and I". :)
Clearly, though, we need to get Wuthrich an inflatable girlfriend to call his own. :)

I apologize for anyone who saw my post in the thread before I deleted it.
Which reminds me I should keep to just posting internet finds and letting my fingers walk somewhere else.

Oh, you need not apologize. I think I owe you an apology. I don't know if you were joking or not, and I may have been insensitive.

It's all good...you were just having fun with the running joke.
Since I'm the perv who took this thread off course, I'll just turn things back around. :-P
Seriously, this is looking like fun. Did I read somewhere else, that this marathon could serve as a "pilot" of sorts, in the sense that whichever game does the best could get a shot at a regular series?
-
I'm not betting on this being a pilot for anything. It's a summer bit to try and find an audience with a little bit of nostalgia. Gonna be fun, gonna be something my inflatable wife (yeah, I took the big step) are gonna watch, but don't get your hopes up; the networks would rather show us people getting their heads chopped off by trains.
-
At the risk of sounding like an egghole, with the exception of MG, all of the shows in the marathon are either on the air now or have already been revived to lukewarm results within the last five years. I'm assuming the MG revival "What the Blank?" is not going forward on FOX. The marathon is just a fun summertime diversion.

Coolio turned out to be not as bad a Pyramid player as many feared, winning against Dick Clark in one game of the 11/26/02 episode, no less.
-
I'd be happy if the Game Show Marathon led to the return of one of the component shows. Of course, given the lack of originality on the networks nowadays, I wouldn't be the least bit shocked to see "CSI:PYL" or even "Your Numb3rs Up."
As for the other topic of this thread, anyone seeking help with an inflatable girlfriend or wife should contact Bo Bielefeldt at 1-555-AIR-PUMP.

Of course not...but sometimes I like to give him benefit of the doubt. I know better, but I guess I'm a sucker for punishment. ;-)

Hopefully that punishment is compounded by the knowledge that he's bouncing up and down in his little chair right now, thrilled that people are talking about him and that his threadjack made him the center of attention.
