Title: "It's Your Bet" theme
Post by: DjohnsonCB on May 18, 2006, 11:27:35 AM
On this morning's "Live with Regis & Kelly", they were playing the theme from "It's Your Bet" during Live's Trivia A Go-Go.  Since this indicates that clean recordings exist, I'd love to know the actual name of this piece and whether or not it's available on an LP or CD.  On the chance they ever come out with another GS compilation CD, this one ought to be included.

Really? I never knew that. Learn something new here every so often. Anyway, that could very well be a catchy piece of stock music. I remember hearing somewhere (possibly this forum) that the theme to "Debt" was stock music also. Somehow using stock as a game show theme is not an uncommon practice.

I don't know about that.....IIRC, it was done by Alan Ett, so I doubt it would have been stock.

The old Capitol Records (Ole Georg) Production Library was a treasure trove of music for game shows, including themes for The Movie Game and Hollywood's Talking, and for things like ticket plugs on The Joker's Wild in its early days. Great stuff.

It may not have been specifically designated as "Stock" music, but it was used as a musical bed for a few late 90's commercials -- once for a cellular phone company.
