Title: DoND in Spanish in USA
Post by: dzinkin on May 17, 2006, 03:01:13 PM
Per this article (http://\"http://www.nydailynews.com/entertainment/ent_radio/story/418310p-353309c.html\") in the New York Daily News, Telemundo will add Vas o No Vas, Mexico's version of Deal or No Deal, to its schedule.  The item is part of a larger discussion of Univision's and Telemundo's plans for the fall, with emphasis on the latter's plan to challenge the former's Sábado Gigante with El Gran Show.

Kind of interesting how the only networks that dare challenge to get you to watch something on a Saturday night are either in the xenon of extended and digital cable or in another language.  If promoted right, Telemundo might have something here.  But, as long as Don Fransisco's heart can take the honeys on his show (hi there), Sabado Gigante es numero uno!

An update: per this New York Post article (http://\"http://www.nypost.com/entertainment/66104.htm\"), it appears that it won't be the Mexican version after all -- this will be produced specifically for Telemundo and is simply "likely" to use the same host.  I've changed the title of the thread accordingly.

A related article in Broadcasting & Cable states Telemundo is planning a daytime game, Buena Fortuna. Would this be the same game as the Wikipedia entry or another format? The Wiki called the Argentine format "popular, but short lived." Perhaps a revision?

Most likely on the same set as the U.S. version and using the same schtick.

Don't know if anyone around here knows, but how many of the current U.S. version's models can speak Spanish--and therefore can be used on the Telemundo version?
