TV Squad has posted an interview with Howie:

Here's one interesting quote from the interview:

JK: Do the producers recruit contestants that are risk takers?

HM: I don't know they want risk taker as much as somebody that we would want as an audience to root for and needs it (the money). You'll never see on our show a celebrity playing for charity.

And, assuming TVGuide.com has it right (http://\"http://gameshow.ipbhost.com/index.php?showtopic=10334\") and we're understanding the listing correctly, someone who is dead wrong.

Who's to say that Howie isn't echoing the sentiments of the producers?

It's possible. And I'd be much happier if I actually heard that from a producer.

As already stated, it's not a celeb show--it's just Miss USA and 25 women who want to replace her guarding the cases.  But the contestant's going to be a clown!  If he hits Howie with a pie, Howie will go see the Banker and makes sure the schmuck doesn't get a plugged nickel.
