It looks like DoND is in for it's first real big test...CBS just announced that as of this coming week (April 5th), The Amazing Race is moving to Wednesdays at 8, and NBC apparently has a DoND ep scheduled then (I thought they were only going 2 weeks with the M/W/F sched)....I think it's a good move for Race, as it's a 8pm show than a 10pm show as it's been....it'll be interesting to see what will happen....

While DoND is in the "Race," I feel they can afford to give up Wednesdays.
NBC is doing right (so far) in picking the two days of the week where competition is weakest...Monday and Friday nights. As long as they keep that low profile and not play the celeb card to death (or at all, preferably), I'd say let CBS have its prize.

It's a good move for TAR, that's for sure. The show was not faring well at 10:00 but CBS likes its NCiS/Unit combo from 8-10.
And, if this move triggers NBC to scale back DoND to just Mon and Fri, that's even better.

Actually, next week Deal is ONLY on Monday and Wednesday. NBC has some Tim McGraw special next Friday at 8. The following week, I believe it goes to its M/F schedule.
-
And to make this all the more interesting (or value-diluting) NBC's making it a doubleheader on Wednesday, which means in the 9/8 PM hour DOND faces the Idol results show and that bunch in the bunker.
What a logjam.

Refresh my memory...
Would this be the first ever 2 hour game show?

Does that "Battle of the Child Geniuses" thing (c. 2000) count?
If I just walked into a joke, WHOOOSH at will. :-P

"Greed" expanded to 2 hours at least once, plus you have the various casino programs.
-
Survivor gets to three hours on finale night (2 for the show and one for the results/reunion).
-
Several of you seem to think that DoND would not fare well against The Amazing Race, and I'm not so sure that's true. There's no doubt that TAR is the better program, but its ratings are down and DoND is still the hot, new thing. I don't see that TAR gives it any more competition than what it's already been facing.
-
I think the Race is doomed. The recent schedule move won't help matters much, since it's going against Deal. I think that Season 10 will be its last.

I believe the first Play for a Billion show on the WB hosted by Drew Carey was 2 hours.
-
And of course the season premieres/finales of Amazing Race are two hours.
