Title: Charley Weaver to be honored
Post by: Matt Ottinger on March 29, 2006, 04:12:52 PM
As the grand-patriarch of the brood, Cliff Arquette (whom the news stories insist on calling "Clifford") will be honored along with the rest of the Arquette family with the American Film Institute's Platinum Circle Award.  The award recognizes entire families' contributions to entertainment.  Past winners have included the Fondas and the Matthaus.

If you're playing tic-tac-toe today, start in the lower left corner out of respect.

Here's one story. (http://\"http://www.cbc.ca/story/arts/national/2006/03/29/arquette-afi-award.html\")

For the youngsters who haven't figured it out, Clifford Arquette's character name was Charles Weaver.

But darn, he knew how to turn out some good looking descendants.

Well, yeah, but I think there are arguably some people on here who aren't sharp enough to see "Charley Weaver" in the thread title, then see "Cliff Arquette" in the post body, and put two and two together.

And I certainly don't know, but can I take it from what you said, Matt, that his name isn't Clifford?

Then explain Alexis Arquette.

Hey, you hit a lot of home runs, you're gonna strike out once in a while.

I don't think she's a bad looking guy.

I assume that's his real full name, but I've never EVER seen him use it professionally.  If I was being honored for my contributions to the world of local high school quiz bowls, I wouldn't want "Matthew" in all the press releases.
