Hi everyone,
I just had a look at the PDF\'s for around Thanksgiving for GSN, and it looks like Syndicated $ale of the Century is coming, with an 8 episode marathon on Black Friday!

It also appears that a Family Feud marathon on Thanksgiving will feature literally every version of the show.
Some great classic game show news!

Unless I\'m much mistaken, this will be the first time a Louie Anderson episode of Feud will have aired on GSN, correct?

Not only is it the syndicated episodes, it\'s the first 8 of them!! I know GSN leases episodes for specials, but is $ale doing well enough that we could see a new lease come next April or so?
Also of note, that Saturday, GSN is airing the final episode of Password Plus as well.
Unless I\'m much mistaken, this will be the first time a Louie Anderson episode of Feud will have aired on GSN, correct?
As far as I know, yes.
Pretty cool that a game show centered around shopping is airing on the biggest shopping day of the year. Nice work GSN...
Not only is it the syndicated episodes, it\'s the first 8 of them!!
Wait, GSN has access to the first syndicated season of Sale of the Century? Oh, lordy, this could be embarrassing...

Not that embarrassing, I thought you played a competitive game that day...

Unless GSN starts airing the syndie episodes permanently, you don\'t have to worry, lol. I thought you did pretty good as well.

Odd that they\'re going back from 801 (the final ep) to 790 (from just a couple of weeks before). Did GSN not air that week in their current run?
Wow. GSN has been on FIRE these past two years. They\'ve seemingly found a great medium/in-between of classic acquisitions, modern acquisitions, and originals. Yeah, Family Feud over-saturated the schedule, but they\'ve made some great decisions otherwise. Their marathons have been great. The Dick Clark Memorial Marathon, The Richard Dawson Memorial Marathon with an episode of FF \'94, and The Match Game Anniversary Christmas Marathon with MG \'98 and a Convy pilot. It\'s just such a joy to watch the network now. A feeling I haven\'t had since 2009.
I can\'t wait to see Anderson FF. I don\'t think I\'ve seen an episode on actual television in at least eight years. And this will the first time Ray Combs\' Feud will be on the network in quite some time. And again, it will be great to see more episodes of Sale of the Century in broadcast quality for the first time in 20 years (or round about).
I hope they do the What\'s My Line?/I\'ve Got a Secret block again this December and I can\'t wait to see what they do for Christmas. It might be special, it might not be, but the network has gained my interest and that\'s the important part. Next thing you know, we\'ll be hearing about Tattletales coming back to the network.
I wish Comcast hadn\'t dropped the analog GSN channel. Just when it\'s starting to get good again. How coincidental that GSN will air Syndie $ale on Black Friday. As far as Matt O\'s concerned, he can rest easy knowing this will be the first 8 syndie episodes.
If GSN can surprise us with MG last Christmas, why not some Tattletales \'74 this Christmas with a pilot or two?
Unless I'm much mistaken, this will be the first time a Louie Anderson episode of Feud will have aired on GSN, correct?I'm pretty sure it is, yes. I'm pretty sure it's also the first time GSN's going to be airing an Al Roker episode.
Interesting...all celebrity versions too, it looks like. Only Harvey doesn\'t have one....but then again, all they have to pick from would be:

For all we know they might have a new lease of $ale ready to go on December 2nd and this is just a teaser. When you think about it, why would they put 8 new (to you) episodes on for a marathon when they had 13 weeks they could\'ve easily used?
Unless I\'m much mistaken, this will be the first time a Louie Anderson episode of Feud will have aired on GSN, correct?
Yes. I suspect like their one airing of \'Match Game \'98\' last Christmas it does not mean they are contemplating putting it on regularly.

Lord, let\'s hope not. Although, I can certainly see them adding syndie $OTC at some point. The 88/89 episodes seemed to have done well enough in the ratings to warrant an additional pickup (and by some accounts, the syndie run was the only other option for additional episodes.)

I thought that whole \"Everything of daytime Sale before Fall \'88 was wiped\" rumor was pretty much debunked at some point...
The source of the rumor was someone who actually worked on the show (the late Mitt Dawson) and all anybody else could come up with for the other side was that they doubted its validity. There\'s never been any proof one way or the other.
The first time I ever got to watch a taping of a game show from in the booth was an episode of Louie\'s Feud. Lord, what a surly, surly man.
Thanksgiving: Will definitely fire up the DVR for the Dawson and Combs episodes. I\'d fire it up for the O\'Hurley episodes, too, but that\'s already on there regularly, and Harvey is on there all the time. Anderson and Karn...bleh.
Black Friday: Thank you for this great treat, GSN.

For what it\'s worth, every single episode of $ale\'s sister show, Scrabble, exists. Both 1984-1990 and 1993 runs.

If 790 is the last ep. from the Jack Narz/Steven Ford week, it just aired on October 19. The Narz/Ford week was shown in its entirety.
The PDF lists it as Edie McClurg/Gene Rayburn.

Going through my DVR, this makes some sense. GSN showed 6 eps. with McClurg and Rayburn, starting on 10/20.

I guess it\'s just one of life\'s mysteries that will remain unsolved forever.
But you know what? I just don\'t care anymore if Mitt Dawson was correct in his statement or not. After hearing about the entire 1983-1984 Dream House run destroyed in a flood, I have pretty much moved on from that phase. To quote the title of a popular Beatles song, \"Let it Be\".

You really have a tendency to get worked up over the slightest thing. GSN announcing that they picked up the show itself (or the last six months of it) was a big deal, considering it hadn\'t aired on TV anywhere in close to 20 years. Them uncovering another season is nice, but is not earth-shattering breaking news.
Let Alex do his job and he\'ll report it when he\'s ready...I\'m pretty sure he knows what he\'s doing.
Mr. Ottinger, what was the number of the episode you were on of this edition?

Sigh, I suppose one man\'s \"meh\" is another man\'s excitement, as the expression goes. I\'m STOKED over this, as we haven\'t seen shopping or winner\'s board $otC since, what, \'88? There\'s a reason I get worked up, but I really would rather discuss that in PM, if you don\'t mind.

To be honest, this is a huge news story. Not just because it\'s Syndie Sale though, but because it is GSN\'s Thanksgiving plans. You could even add on top of it that Ray Combs will return for two airings and Louie Anderson will be on for the first time. All of that combined makes it a huge story (in terms of our microcosm).
However, there\'s a little over two weeks left until Thanksgiving. He\'s got plenty of time to report and of course he\'s going to because he usually writes about GSN\'s holiday marathon plans. I\'m sure he\'s aware and I\'m sure he\'s on it.
Mr. Ottinger, what was the number of the episode you were on of this edition?
I have no idea. It was in the final week of the first syndicated season. They weren\'t sure yet at the time about a renewal, so they made a point to tell us that whoever won Friday\'s show was free to say that he wanted to play on (this of course was the shopping era), but that if the show ended up not returning, that player would receive the prize associated with whatever level he had reached.
IIRC, syndie SOTC did not air in the NYC area during its original run. I\'m curious to see what they did to make the syndie different from the daytime version.
I remember it being on WABC and (W)WOR for a while...am I wrong, though?
A list of things that distinguish the Daytime edition from the Syndicated one:
http://www.gameshowf...showtopic=24654
Most importantly, was the shopping round. On the daytime show, the second-to-last level was strictly the growing cash jackpot (started at $50,000, increased by $1,000 each time it was not claimed); the Syndicated show had all the prizes, except for the cash jackpot on that same level. The Syndicated show got it right; why they daytime show didn\'t do the same is beyond me.
That\'s certainly your opinion. I bet the daytime contestants who scooped a cash jackpot liked the daytime prize path. The Syndicated show got it right; why they daytime show didn\'t do the same is beyond me.

No, I don\'t think you are........I\'m thinking that it aired on one of the slots during the 4-5pm hour on WABC, and (W)WOR I seem to remember aired it at 8:30pm, after their 8pm news..
When Syndie $ale began on January 7, 1985, it was seen on 24 different stations. WXYZ-TV Detroit was one of them.

One thing I\'ve been trying to figure out regarding this edition is the airdates for both first-run episodes, and reruns. I think these might be it, but I\'m not sure.
January 7-June 14, 1985 (Season 1 First-Run)
June 17-September 13, 1985 (Season 1 Reruns)
September 16, 1985-June 13, 1986 (Season 2 First-Run)
June 16-September 12, 1986 (Season 2 Reruns)
An Issue of Broadcasting Magazine said that the Courtroom Drama, The Judge (also from Genesis Entertainment), would debut on local stations on September 15, 1986. This is just speculation, but I believe The Judge may have replaced $ale on the stations that were still carrying it.

I\'d say it\'s pretty speculative. At least here, where Sale was replaced by Card Sharks.
And wasn\'t Sale in first run the whole time? Wouldn\'t make a whole lot of sense for it not to be considering the way the show was structured.
To me, Matt\'s wording seems to imply there was a break between the first and second seasons... the dates are speculative, I concede that, but I\'d bet there WAS some kind of break over the summer...
But here\'s why I don\'t think they could have had a break. It all has to do with continuity.
Let\'s say the season did end in May/June and you have a champion who hasn\'t won enough to compile the $750 needed to take down the lot. Why break then and wait until September to finish, knowing you don\'t have anything to plug in there but reruns of other normal shows? The daytime Sale could afford to do that because they did a few tourneys and special episodes that they could\'ve reran. The syndie show really didn\'t have that kind of luxury to fall back on. To me you\'re just going to confuse too many people for it to be worth the trouble.
If I\'m wrong so be it, but I can\'t see how it would\'ve done anybody any favors to put Sale in reruns at the end of the first four months it was on.
Going by some Variety articles on Proquest, the initial deal was 20 weeks\' worth of episodes with 16 weeks of repeats, which Genesis and Colbert Sales ponied up $2.73 million to cover production costs and didn\'t quite make back. They certainly couldn\'t have afforded a full 36 weeks of originals, so I would hardly call repeats a luxury. A syndicator isn\'t going to care about continuity. Their concern is the cash flow.
Most stations starting running the show on January 7. That calculation would mean the first season ended on May 24 and the second season started on September 16.
The major problem Sale faced was the fact that NBC would only allow Genesis to sell it in prime access slots. That meant not many stations would have openings in their schedules and the ones that did would be putting it up against shows like Wheel or Jeopardy. When Sale was renewed for a second season Genesis got NBC to concede to allowing it to air in the early-fringe hours in 12 test markets in an effort to boost clearances and ratings.
Trading sites like Ryan Rinkerman\'s for example list Tim Holleran\'s last episode as June 4, 1985. No idea where that came from.

Perhaps the station that aired it didn\'t start the series on January 7. One Variety article said \"some stations\" were starting the show as early as that date, but that statement leaves speculation open that some stations started it later. It could also be from a repeat airing, though honestly I don\'t know where in the first season Tim\'s episodes fall.
I have a childhood memory regarding Syndie $ale that I would like to share.
In 1993, I was a 6-year-old kid, and USA Network was showing reruns of the show. Now at the time, I didn\'t know that it was reruns of the 80\'s series, nor did I know that it lasted from 1983-1989, and that the only thing they ever showed of this series was the last few months of the daytime edition from 1988-1989, and the entire 1985-1986 Syndicated one. After they showed the last few months, the series came on one day, and I remember thinking to myself \"Why did they change the music? And why is the endgame different?\". Their one and only cycle of the Syndicated edition ended in 1994. Just as they started giving those last few daytime months another cycle, they completely dropped it.
It was the same story with when the 1983 episodes of Press Your Luck debuted on USA Network in 1992. I was like \"What the hell? Why did they change Rod Roddy\'s opening? And why does the set look a little different?\". For many of the game shows on USA Network, I actually thought they were brand new episodes.

From what I\'ve heard, about as early as in the third week or so on the air... I don\'t think USA ever showed Randy West\'s episodes... going in the other direction, how far forward did they get into the 1986 shows? I don\'t think they ran any of the Sept. \'86 shows...

The earliest episode that USA reran was the October 5, 1983 episode(the first episode with the red windows behind the audience IIRC).

Your \'83 recollection is right, as well as your \'86 one. USA aired about 650 episodes of the 760-ish they produced. There are still a handful of episodes that have yet to be reran.

You remember correctly, since I just checked my copies of October 4 and 5, 1983... October 4 still has the purple windows behind the audience, and October 5 has the red ones.
I was looking through some old Chicago Tribune TV listing pages on ProQuest earlier and I noticed that syndie Sale ran at 11:30pm on WLS. I wonder if any other markets ran it late.
Later on, WLS used that timeslot for Davidson Squares. I think they used it for Headline Chasers at some point, too. I remember distinctly staying up late for Squares as a kid (obviously not a school night) and getting the Ted Koppel \"I\'d like to inform our affiliates we\'ll be running late\" buzzkill.
Looking back on it, as the 8-year-old in 1987 who was the only one in the house who knew how to program the VCR, I really whiffed on an opportunity. Oh well. Summers, vacations, and days off tided me over.
And while we are talking about syndication and PYL, did the NY market get the Republic package of reruns ever?
And while we are talking about syndication and PYL, did the NY market get the Republic package of reruns ever?
No, and I doubt the Los Angeles market got it, either. It was only intended for stations that never carried the series during its original run. So in those markets, it was treated as a \"new series\".
Which brings up something interesting I ran across while researching Sale. I wasn\'t aware that Golden West tried to pitch a nighttime version of PYL for fall \'85. The idea was abandoned because the prime access field was too crowded and CBS wouldn\'t allow it to run in any other daypart.

Yep.... in fact, the only reason $ale got on is because they started it in January. Golden West wanted to start PYL in March 1985, but by time they made that call, it was too late.
Tyshaun
Hmm... if this nighttime PYL had gotten the green light, would there have likely been much different from the daytime series, other than possibly a higher prize budget?

I can\'t imagine any money spaces being any higher than $5,000....Using WoF as comparison its highest money value was $5,000 as well. \"$10,000 + A SPIN\" might have been too much. I\'m thinking higher-end prizes too..
I\'m actually curious to see what happened to ET after WABC dropped it. It airs on WCBS now but I don\'t think it picked it up right away once Wheel moved. While I seem to remember somebody posting a video on YouTube that showed it airing on WNBC at 4:30 for a brief period in 1991, I think that\'s fake because channel 4 was still airing Donahue in the 4:00 slot.
(W)WOR picked it up for a time......So it might have went there after WABC dropped it..

The way I read it back in the day is that ET bounced back and forth between WPIX and WABC for a few years- channel 7 picked it up from channel 11 early in the run, then I think it ended up back on channel 11 then back on 7.
Or maybe I\'m remembering when it was on channel 9- one of them aired ET at 8:30 PM and it sure wasn\'t WABC. Next time I take a trip to the library I\'ll hit the microfilm room up.
It was on WOR at 8:30 from 86 to 88. WPIX never had ET.

Regarding $ale skipping S-016, I bet many, if not all of the $ale skips of episodes they have leased for, are music-rights related.
The 7/7/86 episode from the daytime edition used OMD\'s If You Leave for example.
From my memories from the 80\'s in NYC market:
Syn Sale started off in February 1985 on channel 9 (WWOR), I believe at 8:30.
Moved to channel 7 (WABC) in the fall at 4:30, then switched with Jeopardy and aired at 4 (I guess so Jeopardy could provide better ratings into news at 5).... Jeopardy moved back to 4:00 in Sept of 1986 followed by syn Card Sharks.... few months later Oprah moved here.... Jeopardy moved to 7PM with reruns at 10AM followed by Split Second)...
As for ET.... started on WWOR for a year or 2, then I remember it briefly on WPIX, then at WABC for 2 or 3 yrs until 1986... then WWOR and back to WABC in 1988.... in 1990 it moved to WCBS where it still is today...
I suddenly feel like Zach Horan...
I remember J! being on in the daytime on WABC for a while as well.
Sure, especially the Winner\'s Board era, which deserves the need for an episode guide. Gamed121683, or SRIV94, I hope one of you guys make an episode guide for the Syndie version, especially the Winner\'s Board era episodes.
Gamed121683, I remember you made an episode guide thread for this show. I can help you out with it, once the Syndie version starts airing.

Jeopardy didn\'t move to 7 until after they dropped Split Second, whenever that was (Sally Jesse Raphael took the 10 am slot, ETA to pinpoint that as at least September 14, 1987 because i saw a promo for it on an Eyewitness News open somebody posted, and one of the news items plugged was the Papal visit to Miami which began on the 11th) because World News Tonight preceded Squares for its first season.
I\'m pretty sure that ET didn\'t immediately premiere on channel 2 but since they picked up Hard Copy the year before (thus bumping Win, Lose or Draw to late night), wouldn\'t surprise me if Paramount was trying to sell those two as a pair.
No, I specifically remember J moving to 7 in December of 1986, as the newspapers were making a big deal of World News Tonight moving to 6:30... WOF and ET switched channels in September 1990... my sister was a contestant on the nighttime show in October of that year and we had to tell many people in our area that it was no longer on Channel 2

I do recall a commercial from WABC promoting J! and Lange NTT from 1984, however, for what it\'s worth.
A trip to your library with New York Times Microfilm archives would answer all questions. They were very good with their daily TV listings.

Very true indeed, and I miss the digital version that my libraries had to give up to cut costs. If you want to know more about the 1984 commercial I referenced, you\'ll have to ask Jason Jones (teamfx2000) if he still has the CLG Megamix master tapes from the Closing Logo Group. One of the later volumes has the ad in question, so maybe he can help you out further with it.

Hold on...\'84 NTT was on ABC? That\'s news to me.
Syndicated. It just aired on WABC in New York, much like Jeopardy! did.

The clips with Jack/Andra/Buck as the contestants are from the very episode, as aired on January 7, 1985.
So, if we\'re getting about the first 13 weeks of syndie $ale, are we going to see a lot winner?
If my memory of $ale chronology serves me, we\'ll see two.

The first one happened four weeks and two days in. Beyond that I don\'t know how long it took to get another.
Unfortunately, it looks like that very episode, S-022 is being skipped. Must have been music rights issues. I wouldn\'t be surprised if the vast majority of Sale skips on GSN are music rights related.

I just skimmed through the episode. I didn\'t find anything music related that would\'ve been a rights issue. How exactly did you find out that 022 is getting skipped over?

Look at the PDF for December 16-22. Who were the players in that episode, and who won the lot? Do you also have the skipped S-016?

I\'m assuming that\'s John Goss\' win, as his $72k jackpot would be 22 episodes in.

I don\'t have episode 16, sorry. I did not realize that the PDFs were that far out, hence why I asked how you knew. Now I know.

Easy there, hoss. He simply referred to the same PDFs that most of us follow for this sort of info.

Reminder to all to set your DVRs. Syndie $ale and network $ale are separate series.
Wow. GSN kept the contestant phone number and ticket info plugs intact in the end credits.
So when do we call? :)
My thoughts and observations:
* The Rhinestoned Helvetica font isn\'t present yet. But the updated fonts for the Instant Bargains are.
* Mobile phones have certainly come a long way from the suitcase type. Same thing with the laptops.
* $830 just to buy all the prizes? No wonder they later decreased it to $750.
* The contestants seem really good at getting the money cards on the Fame Game board. Could this be why they later changed it to a randomizer?
* With regards to the ticket plug, they didn\'t even cover it up with a \"Phone Not Active\" disclaimer, like USA Network always did.
* I remember Travis saying that one of the differences between the Syndicated and Daytime editions was the type of questions asked. On the Syndicated edition, it was virtually general knowledge questions, whereas the daytime one had more current-event themed questions. I\'ve seen Syndie $ale before, but I never really noticed it, until I watched the episodes in consecutive order.
I have a small request for anyone who was watching the marathon this morning: Can you tell me the last name and/or the hometown of Judy, who was the champion of the show that aired at 10:30? I\'m about 99% sure that she is one of my former teachers from high school, but I was only able to catch the last two minutes or so of the main game.

Dunno how the Fame Game would\'ve made a difference. Either way, it was still a blind draw...it\'s just with the randomizer, you saw the Money Card in advance, and tried to have good hand-eye coordination.
On the rare occasion when GSN showed ticket plugs (they did it with Password Plus a few times), they didn\'t use a disclaimer there either. I think the difference with USA is that the reruns were a lot more recent, so it would be easier to mistake a 4-5 year old show as new*, as opposed to one from 29 years ago.
*Considering the average viewer at home might not even realize it was a rerun at that point.

The $5 money card on today\'s eps. makes a difference as well. I think I saw that one alone hit on at least half of today\'s shows.
I was surprised by the lack of prizes on the Fame Game board, though it makes some sense on a nighttime version. A non-cash, non-game cash item wasn\'t hit until the 3rd or 4th show. The combination of mystery money or try again, followed by $400 or try again, then finally picking cutlery on one of the last shows was odd as well.
Hi everyone,
I just had a look at the PDF\'s for around Thanksgiving for GSN, and it looks like Syndicated $ale of the Century is coming, with an 8 episode marathon on Black Friday!
https://workspaces.acrobat.com/app.html#d=-XbCvwN2hqclMLwVL416Qg
It also appears that a Family Feud marathon on Thanksgiving will feature literally every version of the show.
Some great classic game show news!

Do GSN has the entire syndicated run?

I\'d like to say the $15 card made just as many appearances through the marathon (even moreso than the $5)...
I\'m guessing the popularity of Press Your Luck (what kind of ratings did it pull, anyway?) had more to do with that than people being able to make a blind choice and come up with something good. Plus they get to use the little ditty from Time Machine again.* The contestants seem really good at getting the money cards on the Fame Game board. Could this be why they later changed it to a randomizer?

That\'s a really good point. Both shows were already competing in the 10:30 slot; I\'m wondering if PYL was pulling viewers away from Sale, and whether this was Sale\'s response?

Thanks for the information! Unfortunately, it was not her. It had to be her doppelganger, as the resemblance was striking.
Well...according to the PDFs, they\'re starting on ep 9 on Monday. Drat. I missed the first three syndie eps...

If we assume that there are only the three money cards and no means to pick again, there is an 8-in-21 chance that all three money cards will go begging. That means in 62% of shows at least one money card will be chosen. That\'s not contestants being \"really good at finding money cards,\" that\'s just probability at work over a series of trials.
Jay Stewart appeared in two Instant Bargain skits. This is the first time I can remember seeing him on-screen on $otC. Did he (or Don Morrow) ever appear on-screen on the Daytime version? Anyway, it\'s good hearing his voice on GSN again.
Out of curiosity, it looks like they used several different female models for the nighttime version. Any idea on who they were?
A few things that have been brought to my attention recently:
1) Doing some calculations in my head, Matt Ottinger\'s episode aired on May 17, 1985, and was #S-095. 29 episodes after Alice Conkwright won the $77,000 jackpot.
2) According to Jason Cranmer on Chuck Donegan\'s\' Facebook Page, the last episode of $ale\'s first Syndicated season, was also Tim Holleran\'s first appearance (#S-100; May 24, 1985). I believe he was originally on for 8 episodes.
3) I heard claims that Jay Stewart filled in for Lee Menning as co-host in 1984. Did he really? I\'d like to see that if it is actually true.
As someone whose first regular exposure to Sale was GSN\'s daytime pickup this year, it\'s weird for me not having an Instant Cash or hearing the randomizer start when someone answers a Fame Game correctly.
If anyone that doesn\'t have GSN or missed out is interested in the marathon episodes, I\'m more than happy to trade for them. I\'ve got them digitized.
I need the first 4.. DVR was only set to keep 5 episodes!!
Yes Vahan, but how many episodes is GSN\'S lease? If it\'s only 65, we won\'t get to Conkwright or Holleran.
Looks like they had some conversion issue with episodes #4-6 in the set. If you watch closely, motion and transitions have that weird jerky streamed look to them. Thought it might\'ve been my DVR but the commercials look fine and episode #s 1-3 along with the last two look fine.

Same here. Maybe it\'s just the videographer/editor in me, but those eps. were hard for me to watch.....[but still fun game-wise!]

Considering that GSN always made it a point not to show plugs, barring a few select mistakes, I am not sure time made a difference to them.
I thought the PW+ ones made it through for a reason; i.e. because they were mid-segment to allow Bill Cullen to travel between the main game and Alphabetics sets, where an edit would be awkward (though GSN used to cover mid-segment ticket plugs with their own web and office address plugs...)
A contestant on other game shows alert: Greg was also on Press Your Luck in 1983, winner of $15,400 in cash.
Did Ron on today\'s episode also appear on Scrabble during 1984 and 1985\'s Tournament of Champions? The same Ron where Chuck was saying \"That\'s okay Ron, you just stepped all over my foot!\"?

Today, GSN aired the 2nd of 8 John Goss episodes. The $750 goal is now in place, and although GSN cut to a commercial during the end credits (not sure if it was to remove a ticket/contestant plug, or videotaped parting gifts, a la $100K Pyramid), they showed a nice close-up of the Reg Grundy Productions Inc. logo.
For a history of the American RG logo, here is this site.

It sounded like they were doing end-of-show parting gift/promotional consideration plugs.
Nice to see the RG logo non-split-screened...but I did notice they had a lot of time to kill with the close!!! Unlike most shows, GSN runs SOTC up to the [edited-in] Fremantle logo--they don\'t cut out early!
Yes Vahan, but how many episodes is GSN\'S lease? If it\'s only 65, we won\'t get to Conkwright or Holleran.
Yes you will, at least John Goss, Helaine Lowey, and Alice Conkwright. It took 22 episodes to break the first jackpot (for $72,000), 14 episodes to break the second (for $64,000), and 27 for the third (for $77,000). Trust me, I\'ve seen every episode in its syndicated run.

Follow the math, you\'re an episode off from all of them. (23, 15, 28)
Which brings us to 66, one more than the lease....Except based on the advance schedules, GSN has skipped one episode (#S-016, John Goss' first day) and is going to skip another on the 18th (#S-022, John's seventh day), so at the very least we'll see Jim fish out $2,000 from his pockets to tempt Alice with an Instant Bargain on her final day. :)

Assuming the lease is 65 episodes (I don\'t recall any confirmation on that), we\'ll get to at least April 9 barring any further skipping.
Daniel, did this version of Sale ever have any rerun breaks in mid-season, like one week worth of reruns during December, and one week worth of reruns during April? Older seasons of Wheel of Fortune in Syndication used to do that.

We\'re getting at least one more skip...the new PDFs show that S-026 won\'t be airing.
1) PYLClark86, since S-#022 will be skipped over, can you please tell me who were John Goss\' opponents in that episode?
2) Did this version of Sale have mid-holiday breaks during Christmas and Easter, like Syndicated Wheel used to have?

I\'m getting flashbacks of adamjk and his \"Feud\" obsession....

I\'d be happy to. The contestants were Dweezil McDunderson and Ken Funklederp.

Ooh, a rare all-male match! PYLClark86, can you please tell me how many of those there were over the years?

PYLclark86, what happened? You said you actually had a copy of S-022, and instead of actually helping me out, you just toy with me.

Oh god, how to tackle this one... guuuh.
Alright Vanna Nissan: I had thought 022 was his lot win, but as it was pointed out by people who are much better at math than I am that this was not the case.
Vanna Nissan.
When Pylclark86 said that, it was because you said S-022 was John Gose\'s last episode. That is what he said he had access to, which anyone with access to Youtube does. Since S-022 was his next-to-last show, you successfully misled... yourself.
In a \"you can be a game show contestant!\" book written by the contestant coordinator from Jeopardy!, he interviewed John Gose about the experience. So there y\'are.Okay, this is what I\'m not clear on. Was it Goss or Gose? It\'s not like Helaine L. where people are hearing an R that isn\'t there.

That\'s \"Vanna Asinine\" to you. As in \"His $otC requests are asinine\".

But \"Vanna Nissan\" is funnier.
Only because \"Vanna Datsun\" is so out of style. :)

Serve a purpose, twit. Help out in a soup kitchen, read to an elderly person in the hospital, bathe yourself.
You may post again after you\'ve done these.

Actually, out of deference to the elderly person, swap the last two.
If you feel the need to expedite, we will also accept \"bathing an elderly person in a soup kitchen\".

Suddenly I had a SpongeBob flashback.

Ok, how many people "bailed" with a prize they could buy. This guy bought the England trip last week, and I wondered how many "Cashed out" like that?
I saw that GSN started over with the premiere episode of the syndicated run of $ale today. Was the episode that aired last Friday the last episode from the current lease? Just wondering if GSN skipped the last few episodes or not.

Yes, it was. I did an episode guide on the Syndicated edition.
