Starting 1/19, Divided will begin airing and Idiotest will be airing new episodes on GSN. You may now resume your normal (or abnormal) activities.
-
Caught the two Divided eps that aired on GSN on 1/19. On the second show, nobody won any money because two contestants would not budge to taking a lesser amount of money. They both wanted the most (60%) and the time and all the money slipped away. So it's possible that all the contestants on an episode of this will go home with a big goose egg.

Interestingly, Ben Gleib followed me on Twitter the other day. I honestly don't have the first idea as to why but I welcome him to the flock.
-
For those who don't know: if the team cannot determine who to vote out unanimously, they have ten seconds to convince one of the outliers, then the cash prize dwindles.
-
I actually had someone try to convince me that 'Idiotest' was pronounced 'Idi-ot-ist'. This same person in the past tried to convince me 'Pinterest' was pronounced 'Pee-in-trist'. I should probably stop spending time with them, but they're just too damn entertaining.

I always aassumed "Pie-inter-east."
-
Just my own, but I'd go the route of Ren Hoek and pronounce it "EEEEDIOT-test".
/but that's just me.

So GSN has decided to burn off Divided quickly. Good decision.

By doing two episodes a week for twenty weeks? Er?
Those words you said--they do not mean what you think they mean.

Maybe let people know what you're incorrectly talking about before you incorrectly talk about it.
Divided is now airing new episodes Wednesday nights in addition to Thursday nights. It has put up reasonably good numbers and demos so far.
I beat it up when it first premiered, sort of like The Wall, but the more I watch, the more I seem to enjoy it... like The Wall.

Seems more of a case of exploiting a show that's doing fairly well for them.
-
Why Millionaire it? You only have a certain amount of episodes in the can. If it's doing so well, why go through them twice as fast?
-
Two episodes a week =/= overkill. If the show succeeds, they make more episodes, maybe repeat the original cycle. I don't think anyone will complain about reruns in a few months.
Not that big of a deal.
-
Let's remember that GSN was so pleased with The Chase that they ordered a second strap of episodes before the show aired a single one, and premiered with a double pump. Not only isn't it a big deal, it certainly doesn't warrant the verb-ing of "Millionaire".
-
And the Chase didn't even make a 3rd season. What's your point?
-
Number of seasons: 4.
Number of episodes: 51.
My point is that you would do well to park the attitude out by the fire hydrant (that way it can be towed away) if you're going to bleat about leaving us forever, only to skulk back here.
/that actually wasn't my point, I just think it needs to be said.
-
"Chase" had four seasons. But, it still doesn't change the idea that a second weekly episode implies overkill. Plenty of game shows added another episode to the rotation. Some did well (nighttime Feud and Squares, Millionaire), others didn't. Nothing new here.
We're talking about a network that airs six hours of Steve Harvey Overreacting to Dick Jokes. A second episode of a weekly game show is light work for them.

You bumped a thread that was about a month old to snark about a show you don't like. Don't even.

FF has 40 daily airings. Should we be worried? :)
-
Might as well call it TFN:GS, The Feud Network with Game Shows

Oh I love Divided. But most of the stuff I've seen on here has been purely negative. So I thought it was getting bad ratings and they were burning through it. My mistake.

A mistake you could have easily avoided making by doing your due diligence. No pass.
I wasn't going to give him a pass either, but his error amounts to more or less changing lanes without signaling.

Right---many of us have found lots of things not to like, but we can still be happy for the people who are working for it, or for the fact that if Divided and Idiotest succeed that GSN will go more towards old-style in-studio game shows and less towards cast-off reality fare like Window Warriors and Skin Wars.
If you have a question, feel free to ask, but you can also do a little research as well.
