Do you accept ROCKIN\' as a clue, or do you hit the ugly buzzer?
I\'d allow it. Don\'t like the clue though. Often your partner is going to assume you mean \"Rockin\'...\", not \"Rock N...\", and guess accordingly.
Chair.
If there\'s a rule in place that your clue has to appear in the dictionary, no joy.
There is every argument that ROCKIN\' is simply a regional pronunciation of ROCKING, which I assure you appears in most English dictionaries.
(Also, that rule would never exist, at least not that cut-and-dried. Proper names are completely valid clues, yet many don\'t appear in dictionaries.)
1a) \"rockin\'\" is a lousy clue to get to \'roll\'.
wasn\'t one of our rules that the clue had to pertain to the word in play so you couldn\'t just give a nonsense clue, wait for your opponents to play, then scoop it on the bounce? Rocking really doesn\'t pertain to the word \'roll,\' at least from my perspective.
Not illegal, just sneaky. I\'d be obligated to accept it despite my distaste for it. But yeah, not the best clue by like 3 longshots.
Pop. (sorry)

Tootsie.....
Tootsie.....
Kudos on the choice of screencap, sir. Kudos, I say. :)
Kaiser ...
(I don\'t claim it\'s a can\'t-miss first clue, but it seems like a perfect second clue.)
Kaiser ...(I don\'t claim it\'s a can\'t-miss first clue, but it seems like a perfect second clue.)
...until it gets your partner thinking about German rulers, and you\'re utterly screwed.
Soze!
