The Ultimate TV Game Show Book is not out just yet.  It should coming out in a matter of weeks.  As soon as I know the exact date, I will post it.

Fred and Steve had one more look at the final gallies over a week ago.  Ok, I have to admit that I took a look too.  It looks FABULOUS!

There is a wonderful foreward written by....  I'll save that as a surprise. All I will say is he is a well loved game show host.

There are a few other surprises.  I don't want to spoil anything for all of you.

I ordered the book back in April along with the Weird Al Yankovic CD
"In 3-D" which contains "I Lost on Jeopardy!".   The book was supposed
to ship in early May, but never came;  about three weeks ago I got in
touch with Amazon, and they said the book was being back-ordered,
but they will send it (with a free shipping upgrade!) ASAP....

If I had to take stab at it...I would guess Alex Trebek.  Since he was the Classic Concentration host and I am sure friends with Steve Ryan who created the rebus' and is/was partners with the author Fred Wostbrock.

It was written about 6 weeks ago.   This person is very much alive!

Could there also be a tribute to another classic game show personality?   Hmmm!!!

What's the highest bid for the information?   :)

I'll put in my two cents and say it is a famous brother or brother-in-law who guest hosted a show that his brother and brother-in-law also hosted.

Hmmmm . . .

Well, that certainly narrows down the possibilities!

I would think it would be a game show host who has been
around a LONG time. One who is familiar with the shows of
the 50s and 60s, as well as the current ones.

My guess is the foreward is written by Bob Barker.
He seems like a pretty well-loved game show host.
But writing a tribute... to someone ELSE???

The Amazon blurb for the book is a lot of fun...

http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg/detai...455211?v=glance (http://\"http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg/detail/-/1566252199/002-4912390-7455211?v=glance\")

Elvis and Wink Martindale? Maybe they co-wrote the intro. What else has Elvis been doing lately?

Friend or Foe is a "hit"? Well, um, publisher's blurbs aren't held to the highest standards of accuracy.

As per the Game SHow Home Game Home Page of our moderator's, STeve did the rebuses for the recent Endless Games home versions of Concentration.

Yes, it is true that Steve did all the rebus puzzles for the box game of "Concentration."  He also created the rebus puzzles for the "Concentration" slot machine.

Look for another new Steve Ryan book in Spring 2005.  "Clever Lunchbox Puzzles" features rebus puzzles by the master himself.  :-)

Not really over my head.  I can't recall what show Cefalo did, but I was trying to be funny because I wanted to be the one who mentioned Caldwell but you beat me to it and the only thing I could think of was Rashad.  I won't be funny anymore.  Chris warned me about attempting to be funny.  I hope he doesn't take my card away from me.  I will try to do better next time.  As Jay London says, "I'll just stand here, I don't want to bother anybody".

After being delayed several times, The Ultimate TV Game Show book is...delayed again!  I got a post card in the mail from my area's Borders Books and Music store, saying the book will not be out until late November/early December.

It was reported that the recent Game Show Congress gathering was going to have autographed copies available, but I wasn't surprised that the book wasn't ready, since most online bookstores listed a September release date.

A source close to the authors gave me the impression that it just keeps looking "iffy," as to whether or not this book will be published.

Some online booksellers list it as coming out in December, but we'll just have to wait and see.

I think it would be nice to see the EOTVGS revised/updated.  There have been a lot of new shows since the last edition in 1999.
