What a year. Trending topics have been Dancing with the Stars, Steve Harvey's Family Feud, American Bible Challenge, The Pyramid and Beat the Chefs. It doesn't go without saying that the acquisitions of Minute to Win It and Are You Smarter than a Fifth Grader? have been continuous hits for the network. This has also been the year of six different classic leases, plus a much needed Jeopardy! lease.

I didn't think the Bible show would work, but it did! They did some targeted outside advertising (conservative radio shows) so that helped bring awareness to the show. Harvey Feud brought many eyeballs to the tube as well. Pyramid disappointed; need better players and a better-known host to make it work.

I dunno; if it confines all of his uninformed blathering to one single thread, I think it serves a valuable purpose.

I don't watch GSN for a number of reasons, so I don't really care to rehash this argument again. But it aggravates the hell out of me that The Pyramid, a show that's actually very well produced as both a pilot and a regular series, can't seem to get a fair shake.

It was mostly "been there, done that".

Well, according to Casey Abell

More to post:
There's more of this? Christmas has come early this year!
Just to list it for the hell of it, the good, the bad and the absolute ugly about GSN in 2012, in order as much as possible....

The first thing you post in a list about 2012 came from 2011? Go back to Buzz and take gslover87 with you.

Here comes more of my obnoxious rambling...
Well, in the 12-step program, you're at #1, that's a start....

I'm sorry. I know it's a lengthy post but it gets points out about 2012.
Do you realize 99% of the reading audience doesn't give two squats?

not everybody may care.
Understatement.

Oh, holy good Lord.
This is rapidly ceasing to be entertaining, even from a "how big of a fool can he make of himself?" standpoint.
-
Is it wrong that I lol'd hard at the uber-long mutl-color rundown of GSN's actions?
-
Absolutely not.
/He should have used white text.

Ok how about this. How would you rate GSN in 2012 on a scale on 1 to 10? (10 being excellent, 1 being horrible)
Threeve.

Best thing that GSN can do in 2013: American Bible Challenge season 2 (and season 3), a 5th Grader or Minute to Win It revival, and acquire Wheel of Fortune
The best way to describe your best case scenarios (http://\"http://25.media.tumblr.com/tumblr_m59l7oUmRI1rs810go1_400.jpg\").

Okay, I'll play along.
I'll give GSN a 9 (because, no one's perfect, right?). They've had highs and lows with the American Bible Challenge and DWTS.
How about 2013? More PYL and Card Sharks and maybe another surprise acquisition. There are plenty of opportunities and GSN has proven that they can surprise me.
Two lines. My thoughts in two lines. Move over Shakespeare.

It will probably just be the same 50 over and over and over again for both shows till the tapes stop working (slight exaggeration there). Count on it.

Or as our Neighbors up North would call it, "Mad Dash" Mode.

Huge exaggeration there! They will just dub the tapes over when they show signs of wear and rerun those fifty episodes until the End. Of. Time.
Forever.
For all time.
And you'll keep watching.

That's a little much. The 50 episodes will go through cycles every 2 and a half months. So 'Episode 50' of the lease will be seen again around March 10th. It's not as bad of a rerun cycle as Engvall Lingo. The 50 episode lease just seems odd, even for GSN.
The two Pyramid hours are also nice, but that's not working as well as the two separate Woolery hours did in Mid 2010-June 2011. Let's hope something else big is coming to daytime.
More Furby-to-Furby interaction.

I totally had Brandon coming back at December 9th on 1:46 PM Central.

I'd give 2012 for GSN an 8.5. A full point for everything with Dancing with the Stars, and another half a point for some schedule issues, especially 12-2pm weekdays at times this year.
Best thing that GSN did in 2012: Harvey Feud, American Bible Challenge, Minute to Win It acquired

If Press Your Luck wasn't preempted two days during Thanksgiving (http://\"http://gameshow.ipbhost.com/index.php?showtopic=24184&st=49#\") week, the last episode of the 50 episode lease would have aired on 12/21. The end of the world is supposed to happen on 12/21. Coincidence?

Come to think of it, even in GSN's "Game Show Network" days, they had short-lived shows whose runs didn't even consist of 200 episodes on the weekday schedule and went back to the beginning after they went through their entire runs. Did you two break everything in your houses when shows like Hot Potato and Match Game '90 aired on weekdays?
-
No, because that was all that was ever made for both shows.

What's the difference? 200 episodes are 200 episodes anyway you slice it, aren't they?

So does that mean that in about two and a half weeks, you're going to break your computer?

And before you answer, be aware that we're looking for a more substantive answer than rubbing mom's bunions and My Little Pony fap sessions.

Taking a walk for some fresh air, like I just did.

For me, I didn't care as much about GSN back then. In regards to the 50 episodes PYL lease, there are bigger issues with GSN and life now

I'm sure GSL87 wasn't alive then from the looks of it.
I'm quite sure that gameshowlover87 was alive when GSN was showing Hot Potato in reruns.

Walking to the mailbox up the driveway doesn't count.
