The Big Board / Re: Shaq to co-host new game show for ABC

Here’s the guy hosting a nationally televised quiz show. Okay, I realize they give the host the answers and John Davidson hosted Pyramid. It’s just funny. https://www.facebook.com/reel/3744467385883239?fs=e&s=TIeQ9V&mibextid=4Ouufp

From the rare video part of the GED exam.

Per the TPiRBarker twitter account:

"Celebrate #NationalGameShowDay with fresh episodes on The Price Is Right: The Barker Era! 🎉

48 new episodes from Season 14 will come to the channel starting May 28. Catch two hours daily from 2pm-4pm ET."

So we're getting to the last of Johnny Olson's episodes, and closer to the Rod Roddy episodes (but not quite yet?)....

Definitely.  I just saw a promo -- either on Buzzr or The Barker Channel -- touting Price coming to Buzzr next week.  And among the clips, it sure sounded like Gene Wood announcing a new car.

IIRC, Gene was one of the first fill-ins after Johnny's passing.

Welp, now it seems Buzzr is using the noon-3pm block as a rotisserie of sorts, because Now You See It, Beat The Clock, and Super Password, respectively, inherit those time slots the following week.

I think they wanna do a shake up, but wanna throw spaghetti at the wall doing it. Mg90 was on at 7pm a few weeks ago, so there's signs they might do a overhaul

According to an email I just got, the premiere episode is the only one that's going to drop on Amazon Prime Video first. All subsequent episodes will be done the normal way: airing Monday night on FOX, then dropping on Amazon Prime Video shortly after midnight Tuesday morning.

I remember seeing "Let's Make a Deal" in my local paper's TV listings, but it turned out to be an infomercial for the LMAD telephone game.

The Big Board / Re: New Season Of The Mole On Netflix June 28

It’s amusing when you recall that Alan Cumming and Ari Shapiro have just been out on tour together with their “Considered Cabaret” show that they’re now hosting similar shows.

Entertainment Weekly has a good interview with Ari Shapiro about The Mole that touches on this topic.

I really want to check out The Traitors, but don't want to pay for Peacock just for that one show. I paid for CBS All Access\Paramount+ for about two years, then realized there was nothing I wanted on it other than Star Trek.

There are some pretty good deals for short-term (1‐2 months) subscriptions on some subscription channels for the next few days in honor of National Streaming Day, but I don't think Peacock or Paramount are offering anything.

^^^ This is through (at least) most Roku devices.

Two things:

1. As I did for Netflix Mole S1, I'm going to turn on Netflix just for one month (and will do it the cheapest way I can), I'm once again baffled why they don't drop this over several weeks.  Netflix: you could have had three months from me if you'd just do it differently!

2. Having watched, in order, Canada English, UK 1, NZ 1, AUS 1, UK 2, US 1, AUS 2, France 1, and currently watching Canada French, I can vouch that it's worth your while to check out The Traitors.  That being said... I found NZ as the best "introduction" version and the UK version as the strongest version overall.

Ryan :)

/Traitors France 2 is sitting downloaded raring to go
//Someone on Traitors Canada French was on the Quebecoise version of Pyramide back in 2009
///yes, I took an hour long detour to visit the set of Traitors NZ 1 when I was over in January - and they gave me a tour!

How much commercial time did Donnymid have in a 30-minute episode versus a Strahan 30‐minute episode?

Ahem.

An Osmond Pyramid had about 20 minutes of show in a half hour slot, while the Strahan version is right around 21:30.

As you were. :)

If Sony didn't try to re-invent Pyramid in the Donny Osmond years, I would think they easily could've had gameplay darn close to the prior versions the Stewarts cranked out.

At least Sony learned from their mistakes and incorporated some improvements to save time, like the best "overall" time tie-breaker, when warranted.
