Seeing Wheel of Fortune a week or two ago film episodes outdoors at Disney, got me to thinking. How many game shows filmed episodes outdoors? (Not including series entirely filmed outdoors, i.e. sport-themed competitions.) Primarily studio based series. First thing that came to my mind was Davidson Hollywood Squares that had a series of episodes beach-side. Others?

Remote Control did some for Spring Break..
-
Win, Lose or Draw also did some beach-side episodes in Hawaii.
-
Family Feud did some episodes from Opryland, such as this one:

-
1960s You Don't Say! (in Hollywood, FL, same as Davidson Squares.)

Family Feud did some episodes from Opryland, such as this one:
They sure did. I think I enjoyed the intro more than anything else.....Showing a montage of the "Southern Fried Host" enjoying himself around Opryland. RIP Opryland, and Ray Combs.
-
In the same vein as Remote Control, I think the short-lived "Idiot Savants" did at least one episode from MTV's Spring Break set.

They loved going outside - they also recorded at Disney World in Orlando and in Central Park.

Have we forgotten so soon THE DIAMOND HEAD GAME?

Have we forgotten so soon THE DIAMOND HEAD GAME?
Exactly what I was thinking - and if Bob Eubanks' book is to be believed, a good argument for keeping game shows in the studio.
-
Have we forgotten so soon THE DIAMOND HEAD GAME?
The OP wanted shows that weren't always done outdoors, otherwise you'd have Treasure Isle and the myriad of kids game shows that taped outdoors

That is correct.

I was in the audience for the Barbara Mandrell vs The Statler Bros taping at Opryland. The intros were cool, but I missed having the big flippy board.
-
There were times when Truth or Consequences taped in outdoor settings during the 60s, after they first went into syndication.
Win Ben Stein's Money also had special episodes done outdoors.

Never knew these were done! I worked out there (at the radio stations) from ’96 to ’98, and again from 2000 to ’03. In fact, my picture at left was taken in the FM studio in the park. Yup, I miss Opryland. The mall never did it for me.

When I was a very little boy (circa 1962), they did at least a week of “Jan Murray’s Charge Account” on the beach. I think it was in Miami.

Win Ben Stein's Money shot spring break themed episode(s) at Venice Beach at least once. One of those can be found on YouTube.

That's extraordinary, especially since GSN has never aired it, despite not having a cigarette sponsor! Trying to learn more about it now.

I did some research myself as well. They taped two episodes of IGAS (as well as one episode of Garry's variety show) at the Florida Citrus Exposition in Lakeland, Florida, in March 1961. They apparently aired on March 22 and 29 (though some sources say March 15 and 22.) Don Murray and Debbie Reynolds were the celebrity guests, respectively. All the regular panelists made it except Bill. Peter Lawford filled in on one show and Durward Kirby on the other.

Based on this:

It would appear that the 22nd and the 29th is correct. Somewhat extraordinary that they're not part of the surviving package, or at least haven't aired on GSN or Buzzr.

And on Navy Pier in Chicago.

Didn't Davidson Squares have a beach week?

And Davidson Squares had a series of beachside episodes. Surprised nobody mentioned that yet.

Bumping because I just found an episode of WBSM from the UCLA campus.

Am I misremembering, or did Make Me Laugh also do outdoor episodes during the Comedy Central run?
Also...how about some of the Wheel outdoor locations? Dallas at the Coca-Cola Starplex and the Hawaii eps. come to mind.
-
How about "The Dating Game" doing a few weeks in Hawaii very early on in the run?
