The app’s website lists BUZZR as one of its channels, but it won’t let me tune directly to it, nor does it show on my channel guide, either on the iPhone or Roku apps.
Can anybody get it?

I poke around a site called Radio Insight, and recently someone started a thread claiming they had a back-door link to Buzzr via Pluto TV.
The link to the thread: https://radioinsight.com/community/topic/buzzr-tv-programming-on-pluto-tv-a-certain-internet-video-service/
Pluto TV "backdoor" link to Buzzr: http://pluto.tv/watch/buzzr?clip=5b9ac869fadbb577d9e4e1c6
I tried his link in the initial post, but only got a static image from Pluto TV.

brings up the “Rat Pack” music channel for me, but I can stream from Buzzr’s site on my laptop anyway. Hopefully something happens with the Roku app soon.
-
Buzzr just posted to social media that they're officially on Pluto TV channel 514, but I'm not seeing it on the channel lineup yet.

Pluto is being Goofy again

Its also in their channel lineup on their Web site, I saw (which was enough to get me to register for an account with them), but yeah, not showing up yet otherwise. Will be quite useful for Roku and Fire Stick users. (Wish there was an Xbox app; guess I'll have to keep using my Plex stream there for now.)
-
Good Morning! We are so excited to announce that you will find #BUZZR on Pluto TV today! Download Pluto TV free and watch BUZZR 24/7 (CH 514) soon!
With that last word in their post above, I'll take a stab and say "soon" will be November 1st.
-
They're now apologizing for jumping the gun and saying it will be on Pluto soon.

I suspect the problem is they need an actual editor and they meant to say "We are so excited to announce today that you will find #BUZZR on Pluto TV!"

It's showing on my Pluto guide finally, but only on the website. Not on Roku yet.

Yep, I see it too. Can you not set favorites on the website?
EDIT: Amusingly, they acknowledge it exists in the Favorites / Block Channels list on the iPad, but you still can't tune it yet. :)

Is this air droppable on Apple ? asking for a technologically challenged friend.

Not sure what you mean. Are you asking if it can be played on an AirPlay drvice (like an AppleTV) from an iOS device? If so, I can check in a bit, but at the same time I'm 90% sure PlutoTV would have a native AppleTV app so you wouldn't need to.
EDIT: The only AirPlay device I have is a hacky app on a Fire TV, so this isn't 100% tested, but: PlutoTV on iOS does not have native AirPlay, though screen mirroring worked just fine. (And PlutoTV *does* have a native AppleTV app.)

Yes. AirPlay. My bad. Thank you.

BUZZR is available on the Android app. The PS4 version does not have it yet.
-
Not on my Roku yet, but I like the selection of channels. The Shout! Factory channel seems like it has some potential.

I’ve been a fan of Pluto TV for a while. The cartoon channels (particularly After School Cartoons) first got me semi-addicted. Pluto also got me turned onto watching news mostly on streaming and international networks. Since I can get more straight news from CBSN, Sky News, etc. (plus others that stream outside of Pluto), I really don’t care much to watch the dead horse beating on CNN/Fox News/MSNBC anymore.
Anyway, I saw Pluto added BUZZR on their iOS app over the weekend. I’m out of town and can’t check Roku at the moment. But if you have a Roku and an iOS device, you can use the iOS Pluto app in “Remote mode” to cast the desired Pluto channel to your Roku. (I think the Pluto Android app has the same feature.) You might be able to run BUZZR on Roku that way?

The Android app does have that, but it doesn't work for Buzzr. Any other channel works though.

Has anyone here received an reply from Pluto TV as to when Buzzr may show up on Roku?

I just discovered the Pluto App on my TV (Samsung) - and there is Buzzr!

I just checked a few days ago and it was not there. I'll have to check later tonight.

Still no dice on Roku. One day.
-
Answering my own question, I received an answer from Pluto TV and they say...
"We are still working on integrating Buzzr and plan on releasing on Roku in the next few weeks."
And there you have it.

YMMV. The Pluto TV app isn't available on my 18 month old Samsung TV.

Ugh...mine is much more than 18 months old but I will remain hopeful until I get home...

Pluto's taken it off their service for hopefully the time being.

I'll say, since I'm seeing it right now on both my iPhone and PC....

It still shows up on their lineup for me (though still not on Roku.)

Same here - I've been watching the CC marathon

That’s interesting. I just saw a BUZZR promo on Pluto either today or yesterday.
-
I was able to get BUZZR on the Pluto TV app for my Samsung TV when I tried last night.
-
So, can you get your Samsung TV to add apps that it doesn't have yet? Mine doesn't have Pluto TV...*sob*

I was able to get BUZZR on the Pluto TV app for my Samsung TV when I tried last night.
Quoting myself to add that yesterday, while it still appeared on the app, i just got the blue spinning circle and it would not load.

Not available on my Samsung. I believe my TV is from 2012-2013

It has begun working on my Samsung again; Mine is a 2017. I noticed something interesting - Pluto tosses in their own commercials. Most of them play two or sometimes three times in a row. I'm not sure what I would rather have....Theirs, or the small set of ones Buzzr plays. :)
-
I noticed that on the MST3K channel as well. I’m guessing the commercial log is automated, because it cuts to break at random moments, or just before the title bumper. So instead of going to break after the rotating MST3K moon or marquee logo, they’ll cut to break, then show a snippet of the logo after the commercials.

Ah, so this is how Pluto makes its money. I hadn't watched it long enough to take notice of that, but it makes sense. It may be possible that the commercials are targeted to the specific viewer, also.
Dynamically inserting commercials this way may explain some of the delays in Buzzr being released at different times on different platforms. Samsung TVs might not have the technology to allow Pluto to insert commercials during the local breaks, which would affect the revenue model. This also means that Buzzr is sharing its rundown with Pluto.

That's generally part and parcel with pretty much any carryage deal between a channel and programming provider.

Pluto does use targeted advertising. I’ve noticed different spotloads running during breaks on the same Pluto channel on different devices. I also get localized ads sometimes for local car dealers, furniture stores, political candidates, etc.
I’m pretty sure they use an ad engine, similar to YouTube. (It may even be YT’s engine.) I believe they have a sales team, so some of the ads are probably sold directly, but I doubt they’re directly selling to every local furniture store & political candidate whose ads run.
Sometimes their ad engine is funky, though. Probably the most common viewer complaint on their Facebook page is about the same ads sometimes playing back-to-back-to-back. They’ve said they’re working on fixing it, though I haven’t seen a timeframe. (Personally it’s not that big a deal to me, but it seems to be to some people.)
Also, about a year ago, I was seeing a LOT of local ads for things several states away. This seemed to be especially an issue on Roku. And it wasn’t that they just had me in the wrong ZIP code—these were ads from all over the country. Being a media geek, I found it pretty interesting, though I doubt most of the advertisers who saw it were amused. It seems they’ve gotten this issue mostly fixed, although even now an out-of-market ad occasionally slips through.
About the Pluto ad breaks not exactly always being in sync with the show’s breaks, yeah, that’s always been a problem since I’ve been watching it. (I’m not sure how that’s working for the live channels like BUZZR, but it’s very noticeable on the Pluto-run channels.) I feel like it’s a small price for all you get with Pluto, but it is something I hope they fix going forward.
One other ad-related issue is the content at times. I have seen a few somewhat racy ads, even on the cartoon channels. It’s not as big a deal to me since I don’t have kids in the home, but I’d be squirming at times if my kids were watching an age-appropriate show and certain ads came on. Again, I hope they fix that issue going forward.

Cord Cutters News (https://www.cordcuttersnews.com/pluto-tv-adds-buzzr-with-access-to-24-7-game-shows-to-roku-players/) is reporting that Pluto TV has now added BUZZR on Roku. One of CCN's commenters confirmed it, although I haven't been able to confirm it for myself (& won't be able to until this evening).
-
Yep...someone mentioned it on the Big Board as well, but I can confirm it’s on Roku, Ch. 514. Watched a little Supermarket Sweep last night. :)

Ok, cool. I had seen the Big Board thread a while back but hadn’t looked at it the last couple days. I generally follow the GSN/BUZZR board more closely, especially on topics like this.
In any case, I’m glad to see some folks here confirming it as well. :)

Does anyone have problems with Buzzr constantly freezing up when watching on Pluto Tv? I just got a new Samsung tv and it freezes up constantly on Buzzr. I can change the channel to something else and it plays fine. So I don’t think it’s necessarily the app.
-
It happens from time to time, yes. I've noticed it on the MST3K channel as well.
-
I have never gotten BUZZR to work on my Vizio TV, continually getting the circle rotating in an orbit. Outside of the infrequent crash on the PS4, all PlutoTV apps work without any issues.

Hmm. My girlfriend just got a new Vizio, and BUZZR works a treat for her on the native Vizio app.

Viacom has purchased Pluto. (https://variety.com/2019/digital/news/viacom-pluto-tv-acquisition-1203114773/)

Anyone watching on Pluto and having issues? Tonight, the audio went out on me, and now I'm staring at a black screen as we speak.
-
I have noticed some pixelation issues for a week or so. Late last week it was freezing, skipping ahead, black screen and pixelating, then it became pixelation issues only with no freezing. I checked both Stirr and Pluto, same issues. No issues elsewhere so not on my end. Something is going on. I have better luck with Stirr, as it seems more "stable" as far as the overall app performance goes but both are having pixelation issues right now as well as website stream. So probably related to that and not on your end.

"For those of you who have not cut the cord yet, we thank you, and invite you to enjoy this free product that you can still access if you cut the cord."
Doesn't seem like a bright idea.
(Unless Pluto is paying them for carriage.)

Not sure if the roll-out is happening gradually, but on my X1 box the app has now been installed but opening it says it's not available on my device yet.

Probably something to this. Viacom may have insisted on its carriage in negotiations for their other networks.
-
A heads up for those who watch BUZZR on Pluto - they are rearranging their channel numbers tomorrow. It will now be found on channel 184. The rest of the changes can be found here.
https://www.cordcuttersnews.com/pluto-tv-will-be-rearranging-their-channel-lineup-on-monday/ (https://www.cordcuttersnews.com/pluto-tv-will-be-rearranging-their-channel-lineup-on-monday/)

Not Buzzr related, but Comedy Central added a few channels (along with other Viacom networks), and right now, Channel 411 is airing @midnight. Not sure how regularly they schedule this, but it caught my eye.
-
I wonder how it will age in reruns.

For those who watch Buzzer via both Pluto TV and STIRR:
Which source is your preference? It seems that when either source "blocks out" Buzzr ads with their own 'breaks', it seems that Pluto mostly shows the silent floating "tokens", while STIRR tends to show more ads/promos during their breaks, &/or the semi-quiet looped video of the person eating the same handful of popcorn.
One thing that I had issues with recently is that STIRR has on several occasions did not to revert to the Buzzr show on-time, if at all. STIRR has missed entire segments, while Pluto has been faithful in getting back to the show on time. Has STIRR fixed those issues (I have kept on Pluto for the last few weeks)?
