Those were also, IIRC, nine Apple II machines hooked up to monitors. :)

9 Apple ][ machines (each loaded by a cassette... CASSETTE... at the beginning of taping sessions)... controlled by an Altair running custom software.  

Hard to believe my cell phone has more memory and processing power than those old Apple ][s.
