Right market, wrong station.  It was what is now NBC affiliate WTHR-Channel 13 (when Dave worked there, it was WLWI and an ABC affil).

I guess Connecti-Matt has a leg up on all of us in that regard.  Speaking of which, when are you on, Matt?  I have some relatives in Connecticut (not a lot, but maybe they watch--you never know).

Yeah...i'm hoping...but as you all know, gs aren't the daytime dominant format anymore...and being a local news jock doesn't get you to the big leagues as often...(Goen did sports in Palm Springs....Chris Harrison did sports in Ok City, but those are the last two recent ones)...Still, I hope for the best...I smirked when I saw that Goen was 34 when he was hired to do WOF...i'm getting close!

But enough about me, let's talk about me!

I co-host "Good Morning Connecticut" on the weekends...2 hours from 6-8am...it's the best combination of news, weather, entertainment, and awkward silence you'll find on local tv!

Do they stream or archive their shows at all? Would be neat to see another "of our own" ....

They do post weather reports after we're done...if you go today to WTNH.com and look for the blizzard coverage, you'll find me in there a lot...

In a semi-related topic, Rock and roll manager Irving Azoff's wife(at least in February 1982 she was), Shelli, was part of the family pair on this past weekend's airing of Blockbusters.

Chris, you really need to write a book filled with your anecdotes. I think a lot of people would appreciate your dry wit.

Seriously, guys, thanks for the nice words. Makes a guy feel pretty good to know someone's actually reading.

Damn, I said "JERK AND A-HOLE" (holds up blue MG card)

Seriously, you and Don Howard should start a little comedy duo. ;-)

Back to the topic now...

Unlike the Family Feud THS, the Wheel one didn't even mention the contestants' stupid guesses to puzzles, like:

"Armadillo and Laredo, Texas" (Amarillo and Laredo, Texas)
"Miners & Hoes" (Fingers & Toes)
"Done with One Hand" (Gone With The Wind)

And what is definitely WOF's version of Feud's "September"...
"A Group of Pill-Pushers" (A Group of Well-Wishers) with Pat screaming "This is Wheel of Fortune, Joe!!" to the contestant.

And Jimmy Connors almost becoming host of the daytime show before Rolf?? Didn't Merv learn from how Joe Namath was all set to do Family Feud until they looked at Ray Combs?
