Well I'm sure in your mind, it was dang funny.

I'm also reasonably sure that in your mind, your excessive posts add so much to this board.

How could I forget that one??? Especially when John Ricci was taking requests for videos on his page, I piped up with that one.

Besides being a blooper, I think the ruling itself was a blooper.  To this day I've never figured out why that clue was not accepted.

Quite simply, it's a form of the word. Would you accept "American" for "America"?

Wouldn't that be an instance of "...roughly a form of the word, I'll give you one chance to give me the correct word?"

Oh... D**N IT! I forgot all about the France/French incident. That was a really funny moment. I even downloaded the incident off the 'net, and it runs over eight minutes.

Sorry. I said "D-A-M-N it", not "D-A-R-N it".

Hell, boy, be a man in here!  We have four-letter words in the English language for a reason.

Yeah, but that's not what I'm saying, and in fact you prove my point further. I'm asking if "American" would be considered a legal clue for "America", since the OP couldn't understand why "French" was illegal for "France".

Forms of the Password are not legal clues, period, paragraph, end of story.

Correct.  That purpose is to humiliate Lingo contestants who space out and forget the rules.

Here's one that no one ever mentions, probably because it's not neatly summed up in a few words.  On a Monday on The $100,000 Pyramid, Dick Clark turned to Terry Lester and explained why Keif Farrendini, the defending champion, wasn't there.  (She and Mr. Lester knew each other.)  He then returned to the other team, who played their turn--without introducing Terry's partner.  (On the Golden Pyramid Awards marathon from March 2002, this was one of the three nominees for Best Brain Freeze.)
Protecting idiots from themselves just leads to more idiots.

That's hilarious!  I'm sure that 7 clips of that will make the next gameshow moments special!

As for the other transgression that appeared in this thread...when is enough enough?

Lisa Donovan always sang the title on FTM.  Some people still didn't get it.
Let's Make a Deal was the first show to air on Buzzr. 6/1/15 8PM.
