The original (Fleming era) Jeopardy! board
« on: September 14, 2025, 03:12:59 PM »
I'm visiting DC for the first time, and walking around the Smithsonian National Museum of American History. Was hoping to see the original Jeopardy! pull-card board. But no go. Anybody know where it lives, these days? Is it at the Broadcasting Museum in NYC?

AFAIK it does not still exist.  I've thought it would be nice (and easy, compared to the original Concentration game board), to rebuild the board, for the Strong Museum.

Does anyone know if my assumption is right, and that there were TWO large grid-boards--one for the J! round, and another for DJ?

::WARNING:: OFF-TOPIC ALERT
I've been a Washingtonian for 25 years. I recommend heading out to the Udvar-Hazey Center in Dulles if you have a day free. It's an amazing space.

Just curious why you thought it was at the Smithsonian. I don't recall ever hearing it had been donated there.

Got it mixed up with the original Wheel puzzleboard, perhaps?

There were some rumors that the original WOF puzzle board was donated to the Smithsonian, but I've never heard that being confirmed.

Pretty sure that was attempted but fell through. The puzzleboard was too big IIRC.
