I think a 2 player/1 showcase variant self corrects over time. There may be more double overbidding in the beginning , but then you’ll see strategies change because of it.

Going back to the ioriginal post—that break period is a reality, and unless creators and producers can claw back those minutes you can call it criminal or economics, it just is. I quite like Chelsea’s idea to take the show shopping if CBS can’t give some time back on a daytime institution.

More to the point, which show do you assassinate by forcing it to start at either :15 or :45 past the hour?
