Recently I had the privilege of watching the final episode of the short-lived NBC game show "Shoot For The Stars" hosted by Geoff Edwards. It was the last NBC game show to be taped in New York.
Teams always began with $100 at the start of a new match. Any time they uncovered a star they could wager any or all of their score to come up with a correct solve to a word puzzle.
My question is, if a player risked it all and wiped out, did they stay at $0 or were they given a base of $100 again to start. I only ask this because if the player had $0 and on their next pick they chose another star, they'd have nothing to wager.
I don't know if that ever happened on the show or not, but was curious. I'd think if that happened and the player had $0, they'd simply be out of luck and lose that turn. Most of the 24 boxes had money amounts from $100 up to $500, so unless they scored something after going down to $0, they'd have nothing to wager if they chose a star on their very next turn after wiping out on their previous turn.
I don't know if anybody here would have inside knowledge about that scenario.
