The Future of Game Show Network?

(1/2) > >>

TimK2003:
With Sony's Game Show *Central* being pretty much found on all the streaming outlets and the continued cord cutting of cable and satellite subscriptions where Game Show *Network* is seen, one wonders just how much longer Sony's original GSN will last?

GSC's programming seems to be interchangeable with GSN to the point that most average Joes could not tell the difference between the two, except for the fact that Central airs older Network original programming.

If more viewers have streaming access to Game Show Central than those who still pay to see Game Show Network on cable or satellite, I would think Sony must be considering if GSN is still financially viable and should continue it or just kill it off and concentrate more on their streaming channel in the not too distant future.

Your thoughts...

Seeing as they are still in the top 40 and recently beat out, among others, NFL Network, Adult Swim, and MTV, I'm not sure that it's an issue.

Although they could just as easily show the GSC channel, GSN has become one of those channels that plays in the background at the doctor’s office or a restaurant, kinda like HGTV or Food Network. With their focus on more originals I don’t see that changing.

They should make GSN Classics, with just the programming GSN aired from 1994-2004 and the other stuff they have the rights to

But won't that take viewers away from Classix?
