I just read the rules. $500,000 winners and $1,000,000 winners will get upfront checks for $125,000. The balance will be paid off in installments; for $500K winners, ten annual checks of $37,500, and for millionaires, twenty annual checks of $43,750.

That could change gameplay significantly.  You could see some bails at $250K even if the person pretty well knows it...

Of course, if they go for the $500K, then there's less risk short-term.

I think it wrecks the concept -- it's not so life-changing if the money is over so long...

I don't know . . . there are quite a few people who've come to wish that their windfalls hadn't fallen quite so quickly.
